Rings

Rings are something that require no skill to use. Most of them require being worn, and a, "twist", to use the power they possess. The exceptions to this are the Elegant ring and Yellow Stone Ring, who's powers are invoked upon wearing.

Pink Crystal Ring

"The ring is a single piece of a pink mineral, cut and polished until its facets sparkle in the light."

The pink crystal ring comes in three forms, commonly known to wizards as, "Ring of Power", "Ring of Vigor", and, "Ring of Energy". To the untrained eye however, it is not possible to determine which is which. However, when bought in a shop, cost may be an indicating factor, but not a guarantee.

The three types of ring differ in the amount of Guild Points they restore. In the order listed above, 250,150,50 Guild Points are restored to the wearer when the ring is twisted.

It is possible to determine what type of ring you have, by the amount of GP returned. Short of asking a Wizard to identify the ring for you, this is the only way available to a Non-Wizard.

NOTE: The GP restored will NOT take you over your maximum GP, any beyond your maximum will simply be wasted.

Finally each ring holds a finite number of charges, once used the ring will no longer grant GP's. These rings may be recharged by a Wizard, but most wizards will usually charge for this service. Also the ring may be destroyed in the process.

Blue Crystal Ring

"The ring is a single piece of sapphire, cut and polished until its facets sparkle in the light."

Blue Crystal rings, sometimes referred as, "Rings of Recall", allow, when charged, the twister to return to their start position.

What does all that mean?

Every player has what's known as a start position, for warriors it's the Mended Drum, (See help start). Twisting the ring will transport you to that location.

This has the advantage of giving you the ability to get yourself out of trouble very quickly. Should you find yourself in a fight you are losing, a simple twist can propel you to the relative safety of the Mended Drum.

These rings also have a finite number of charges. Much like Pink Crystal rings, they maybe recharged when dead. However these rings are allegedly even harder to charge than Rings of Power, so expect to pay possibly more than the cost of a new ring.

Finally, like the Pink Crystal rings, to use, the ring must be worn, and must be given a, "twist", to invoke it's power.
