Christmas Days of Old I remember Christmas time As though it were yesterday. Stringing popcorn for the tree Me and Sis at play Telling little secrets Of what we made at school To give to one another We thought that was cool But nothing could compare To the twinkling lights so bright On our fresh cut pine tree And the angel lit up high She was fair with golden hair And 'neath the Christmas tree Was the baby Jesus Among the nativity scene Snow was falling, glittering Upon the county road And visions of Santa was in our heads As Grandma told stories of old The smell of cookies baking And mistletoe o'er the door We sang as we wrapped presents To give to kids who were poor That was the special time I remember of Christmas past. It wasn't the lights and carols But the love put into holidays past. By: Jene' Lind Dec. 22, 2002 https://web.archive.org/web/20040820170621/mailto:[email protected]
