A Family Tradition

When we lost Dad in 1997 my brother Dan decided we shoud do a family anuual camping trip in memory of him. The trick is to find a campground that has 13 + campsites open at one time and near to each other... 20 some years later we are still carrying on this tradition.

:: Highlights ::

Friday nights we have a Taco nite potluck supper to start off the weekend and on sunday mornings we have abreakfast brunch together... basically throwing all the grocery leftovers into a meal buffet style to close out the weekend.

Someone seems to bring along a "couch" found on the way to the campground for extra seating. We also have 2 traveling Trophy's. One the largest fish caught that weekend and another one for the bean bag game called "cornhole:"

Every year there always seems to be something new!!! Giant Wooden Jenga Game, in 2017 a new outdoor Movie Screen , 2018 homemade Hot Tub

    Ladder Golf

    - Make Your Own - (aka hillbilly horseshoes) is a fun camping game for all ages. When you’re not camping, set them up in your backyard for some outdoor recreation on the weekend.

    Two Truths and a Lie

    -Some of the best games don’t require any props. Everyone around the campfire must share three facts about themselves–two of which are true, and one a lie. You guessed it: The other players must correctly guess the falsehood.

    Spoons

    - This is arguably one of the most high-intensity card games around. Place however many spoons (pine cones or rocks work too) equals one less than the number of players (for example, five friends, four pine cones). Deal four cards to each person. All players simultaneously take out one card and discard it to their left; then each person picks up the card that has been placed on their right to continue the motion. The first person to have four of a kind picks up a pine cone on the sly. When the other players notice, they pick up the remaining items. The person left without is out the next round

    Glow-in-the-Dark Ring Toss

    -This game is super easy to assemble and bring, because every piece is detachable or collapsible in some way. Consisting primarily of glow-in-the-dark necklaces or bracelets with joiners for the rings, the ring toss peg is simply a paper plate or sheet of newspaper, a cylinder of some sort (a paper towel roll core would be perfect, but even a stick would do), modeling clay or play dough to support the cylinder, and Scotch tape to secure some glow sticks around the peg so you can see what you’re aiming for. This game is surprisingly popular once you get a match going, because who wouldn’t love a game that glows in the dark?
