http://www.geocities.ws/Colosseum/Field/6609/sid2.jpg   4/7/09 - Atlantic -

First things first, our soccer moms came through again tonight by providing sack meals for us tonight.  The meals on road trips mean a lot to the boys and we say THANK YOU so much Shelia Wenck and those that helped to put the lunches together.

It was a perfect night for soccer and the TITANS got back on the right track with a big win on the road at Atlantic.  We started off the night by playing varsity first.  They came to play and took control right from  the beginning.  We talked all night, played possession, and controlled the whole game.  The scoring started 9:30 minutes into the game when Tyler Meleny taking the throw in was able to place it perfect, bounced off an Atlantic defender on the back side and went into the goal.  Tyler played a great game tonight as he had three assists, and two goals.  The second goal came just 3 minutes later when Tyler Meleny plays the perfect through ball to Zach Shea and Zach goes one on one with the keeper and wins.  Third goal comes with 15 minutes left in the half when Cody Hicks sends in the corner kick and Tyler Meleny is there to put it away.  Tyler Butler puts in the fourth goal after a nice crossing ball from Kyle Larkin just 2 minutes later.  It is seemed to become the Tyler and Tyler show for the next goal as Meleny plays in the perfect throw in ball to the feet and Butler one touches into the back of the net.  Then Kyle Larkin gets in the scoring action with the next two goals almost back to back less then a minute apart.  The first one comes off of a throw in from Colin Duffy and the second from a through ball from Tyler Meleny.  That ends the first half scoring and we go into the half 7-0.  We ask them to come out the second half, maintain the level of communication, slow it down, and posses.  We score one more goal with 4 minutes left in the game as he sets up Nate Jones for the goal.  Great effort tonight from Zach Shea and of course the defense.  Mark Richwine logs his first shout out for the season with the help of his defense, Chris Wenck, Colin Duffy, and Ryan Cook.   We will have our season home opener on Monday next week as we welcome Glenwood to town, this will be a tough conference battle, and one we must win.  Good conference win tonight and a step into the right direction.  The team redeemed themselves from last years loss to Atlantic in a big way.  Well done!!!!!

JV played a full game again tonight as we were able to hold back some of our varsity subs tonight to be able to have them available for the full JV game.  Trevor Stephens logs his first shut out for the season as well and he played a great game with several diving saves.  Good effort on JV tonight by Cody Hicks, Todd Whisinnand, & Jaden Brouse.  Jacob Clark scored the loan goal for the Titans in the 2nd half and it proved to be the difference.  Jacob happened to be in the right spot and played hard to win the ball after Troy Mahood took a shot that bounced off the cross bar.  We have a student with us this year from ISD, his name is Willy Esbeck, Willy played his heart out tonight and played a very good game.  He is a freshman and we look forward to working with him and watching him advance .  Over all great job by all of them to get some respect and pride back again and feel good moving forward,  They played their hearts out tonight and there is no doubt they left it all on the field.    The effort from both the JV and Varsity Squads was amazing,  the coach is verify pleased and if the kids continue to bye in, look out baby, look out.
