We welcomed to Titan Field tonight the Knights from Mt Michael High School at Elkhorn NE.  Last year they beat us 2-1 in a tight fought match and we were looking to get the win tonight by protecting our home turf.  Mt Michael is a big team, physical, experienced, and a veteran team with skill all around.  We are young, only our second game of the season, and looking for the right people.  We knew and we warned the team that tonight would not be like Tuesday.  The Knights will challenge you to every ball, they will not back down, and they will wear you down.  It was a very physical game and we will certainly take our hats off to the kids, and commend them for they did not at any time give up or back down.  The game was certainly in reach and something that we could have stepped up to and still won at the half as we were down 1-0.  12 minutes into the second half they call us for a hand ball in the box and the Knights are awarded a PK.  Mark Richwine makes a great diving save on the attempt and knocks the ball to the side.  The Knights beat us to the ball and take a second shot on goal.  Mark is there to stop that one as well.  Great effort and GREAT JOB by Mark.  We thought and hoped that this might be the lift that might get us going.  Instead 6 minutes later they put in their second goal for the night and go on to score 3 more before the end of the game and we go down 5-0.  We had another great effort tonight by Miguel Ramos and Zachery Shea.  The two played their hearts out and sold out tonight.  Because the game was so physical, there could have easily been several fights tonight, but time after time we got up and walked away, this is tough to do, but we did it.  Thank you TITANS.  Hopefully we learned something tonight and it will only make us better and stronger as we older and wiser.We will practice Friday, play the Alumni game Saturday, and get ready to travel to Creighton field on Monday to play Glenwood.  This too will be another physical tough game.  Please join us on Saturday and watch the Alumni game at 2pm on the game field.  We will be cooking hamburgers and brats after the game so plan on sticking around afterwards and visit with the players of today and yesterday.  Mondays game will be played at Creighton field in downtown Omaha on 2500 Cass St Omaha, NE..  The girls varsity will play first at 4:30, followed by the boys JV at approx. 6:15, followed by boys Varsity at approx. 8pm.  Please join us.

JV made every attempt to show the Varsity tonight that they were going to be in for a tough match and that it would be a different style game then Tuesday's.  We did not look at all tonight like the same team that was on the field on Tuesday.  We lost this one tonight 6-0 and were beat in every aspect of the game.  We need to get to being focused at practice and it will prepare us for the game.
