2005 Titans

   4/14/05 - Sioux City North
On the road to Sioux City.  Off for 14 days and looking for a game.  We start strong and look good as we seem to control the game in the first half.  We are being patient, talking and moving the ball around as we set up and move the ball down field.  We had our opportunities to once again to score but the finish is still not there.  We are looking good, then with a series of missed clears in the back they take advantage of it and score with less then 5 minutes left in the half.  Half time times with us down 1-0.  The second half we forgot to get off the bench, we stopped attacking the ball, instead we got caught standing flat footed and waiting for the ball to come to us.  On the other hand they came out on fire and scored two more in the first 5 minutes of the second half.  We are now down 3-0 and we begin to check our souls.  With 15 minutes left in the game we score our first goal of the season of a corner kick.  It is picture perfect as Josh Grosvenor sends in the corner kick is Luke Thomsen is right there near post with the header.  It was nice to watch.  3-1 now but not for long.  We get called with a foul in the box and they score on a penalty kick, now 4-1.  It was nice to see that we didn't quit though as we came back and scored off of another corner with 4 minutes left in the game.  This time Josh Probst took the corner and Adam Larkin is there far post to hammer it in from the back side.  The game finishes 4-2, it is hard to lose but it was nice to see us score.  We will kick in, and when we do, be ready.  We now have one day off and we will welcome Glenwood to our house on Monday.  This will be the makeup game from the rain out last week.  Glenwood will be another battle and we are ready.

JV on the other hand played a solid game both halves and walked away with the win.  It was a great win and it was good for us to put this one away.  In the second half we move some people around and mix it us a little.  James Duysen is moved to midfield and was on fire.  Just over a minute into the half Alex Seliak starts it out off with a great defensive play at starts the ball in the other direction.  He plays it up to James and he breaks by the defense and is one on one with the keeper.  Smooth as silk, cool as ice, he beats the keeper and puts it away.  This was a big win for us and the boys had fun and played very hard.  Chris Navarrete, Cory Jasek, Alex Seliak, Brandon Duffy, and Kyle Herrian played great on defense and teamed up to control the back field.  Zane Brugenhemke started at goal for us tonight and was on fire, he had some great saves and was a leader out there.  Ryan Thomas stepped into the goal for the second half and got the save.  Great effort by both.  Zane logs his first shut out of his young career,
