  4/17/07 - Sioux City North
We travel to Sioux City North tonight with a great attitude and the hope to beat them at the Varsity level for the first time.  We play them to a 0-0 tie at the half and have to believe that we are in the game and that we can win this one.  Sioux City North has a history of scoring quick at the start of the second half so we tell them to start the second half the way they finished the first, communicate, and play to win the second ball.  Well we weather the first 15 minutes, and they put in their first goal.  From there within the next 6 minutest they manage to score two more and we are down 3-0.  Tonight just was not our night.  We start subbing in with 15 minutes left in the game and our young players all manage to get some good playing time at the varsity level.  As a team we played hard for 55 minutes, then one slip and they got hungry.  You can not afford to let down or allow a team like North to score first.  We now move on to Friday, this one is done and in the books and no looking back.  We travel on Friday to cross town rival St. Alberts.  JV will start at 4:30.  We want to say Thank you to Mrs. Larkin for providing sandwiches today for the team on the bus, and Mrs. Landolt for providing sandwiches last week on Thursday then the game was canceled.  Thank you for coming up to provide support to the team tonight.  It means a lot to the team.

JV was a different game tonight.  It was a frustrating game to play.  JV like Varsity needs to work on the communication part of the game, once we accomplish this we will be just amazed on how much easier the game becomes.  Effort has a direct tie to communication.  You can work very hard and apply all the effort in the world, but if you don't talk it means nothing.  When you talk you now involve your neighbor in the play and your job just got easier.

Thank you all for your support and your visits to our page. Keep checking back I will post different things off and on.  Interested in how the boys did and what they look like, then check out the 2007 Varsity Squad & Stats and 2007 Junior Varsity Squad & Stats pages to see our running season stats.
