In honor of our downed Captain, Luke Thompson, tonight we asked each player to wear a black band on their left arm.  We traveled to Kuemper tonight and squeaked away with a win.  We scored first in the first half after Dan Fischer broke away with the ball.  The defender is called for a hand ball.  Josh Grosvenor steps up and takes the PK and we are up 1-0.  We had several missed opportunities as we out shot them the whole game.  At half we told them that we need to find a way to put this away.  You let them hang around and they will put one in on you.  10 minutes into the second half Dan Black puts the ball up to Dan Fisher and Dan's works his way around and through two defenders and beats the keeper to put us up 2-0.  It was a great effort by Dan Fisher.  Just under 9 minutes left in the game we are called for a foul.  There was a bit of confusion on our part trying to set up the wall and getting marked up.  They took advantage of it and made a perfect pass and the perfect touch to the back of the net.  We are now up 2-1 and they are really picking up the pace.  We slow the play down and ask them focus on possession.  This in itself took some of their momentum away, and brought it back to the Titan side.  It's a win when it is all said and done.  I want to point out the play tonight of Ben Edwards, Josh Grovesnor, and Dan Fisher.  These guys really picked it up tonight.  Another good and positive defensive effort tonight by Seth Jackson, Dan Gulden, Adam Cooney, and Korey Lane.  Next week we will have a tough schedule.  It will show us if we have moved ahead any over the past few weeks.  This is the time to step up, get strong, and prepare to go into the final two weeks ready to fight and win every game.  We will start off the week with Glenwood at home.  We will play the Junior Varsity game first at 4:30pm as usual, followed by the Varsity game right after it.  Please join us at 4:30pm on Monday.

JV played well yet didn't play well tonight.  We scored 4 goals and controlled the whole game, but we played down to their level.  At times we got selfish and tried to do too much on our own.  We had a lot of opportunities in this game but they just flooded the box and made it difficult to do much of anything.  The first goal was scored off of a nice combination play between John Kocourek and Joe Landolt.  John sends a nice through ball and Joe is right there to put it away.  Joel Edwards picks up two assists tonight as he sets up Brad Stageman for the second goal and then later he sets up Turner Morgan in the front of the net for the third goal.  Joel Edwards played a great game while he was in there tonight.  The fourth and final goal came once again from our defender.  You guessed it, James Duysen steps and hits it from about 25 yards out and it is nothing but net.  Great play tonight by Andy Kiser, Joe Landolt, Walter Osborn and Brad Stageman.

I want to also say Thank You to the soccer mom's tonight.  The meals you sent with us tonight were a great help.  Everyone got a little something in them before the game, and have some left to eat after the game on the way home.  We didn't have to stop on the way home to eat and we got home early.  Thank you all so much for all of the meals this year, we really appreciate it.
