2007 Titans
5/01/07 - CrestonTonight was an all out interesting game. We applaud the effort we put out tonight but we just couldn't win the scrappy one. It was a big game, a conference game and one that we needed. We fought very hard and played some good soccer we just decided to start shooting too late and once again just couldn't finish. The sad part of the whole thing is the only goal of the game was scored by us, just in the wrong goal. Just 10 minutes into the game off of a corner, the ball bounces around and on an attempt to knock it away it deflects into our goal. They go up 1-0 and that is the way it stays. We get some of our starters back and are looking forward to seeing what we can now do. The thing we saw tonight is what we hoped would round out the team, instead it turned into a case of individualism. We will deal with this as we continue to dwell on the team concept. Chris Navarrete was back at sweeper and did a great job marking people up and running his defense of Ryan Cook, Brandon Duffy, and Brett Epperson. Kyle Herrin got some great Varsity playing time as he returned to the team as well. This truly was a tough one to lose when you feel you give it your all. Creston moves to 9-2, and we fall to 3-4. We will be back home on Thursday against Denison. This always is a very tough physical match. It will be another conference game and we must win now if we still plan to be Conference Champs.
