Coach's Comments
2009
Titans
Another perfect day for soccer, weather was great and the field was full regulation size as we traveled to Iowa Western to play cross town St Alberts. It was our first city match and an opportunity to take a leg up on city champs. We played a solid first half, we started out talking and having opportunities due to talking. It was a solid defensive battle and we went into the half at 0-0. Like the Harlan game on Saturday we forgot we needed to play two halves, or 80 minutes. We got ran all over the field the second half. We stopped talking, we didn't mark up, and just couldn't seem to get control of the ball. The comments tonight will be short as it is better in this case to say nothing then to say anything. We lost the game 0-3 and managed to score their last goal for them. We have some time off now which is needed in several ways. We have several injuries and need some time to regain composure. Our next game will be at home against another cross town team as we welcome AL to our turf. Please join us for the JV match first on Tuesday 5/12/09 at 4:30. We
welcomed to the team tonight another player as Cristian
Navarrete joined us for his first game of the season. This
too was another battle with only one bright spot as Cristian and
Troy Mahood were able to hook up and score on a great crossing
pattern play. Cristian was able to break lose down the
side, crossed the ball to the back side and Troy was there to
perfectly one touch it to the back of the net. JV also
lost composure toward the end and lost 1-4. Like all of
the other games, they fought tough right up to the end and never
quit. |
