2010 Titans
5/11/10 - Abraham Lincoln -City game tonight and a good night for soccer. The weather was a huge difference from last night, at least it was not as cold and or as windy. City game and they always mean a lot when it comes to city bragging rights. We made some changes tonight and moved people around. We are looking to see who will and who is willing to step up and make a difference. We had a great game tonight by Nick Graves who moved into the sweeper spot and played very solid back there for us tonight running the show and moving people around where they needed to be, great job Nick. We also had very good play tonight by Brian Fountain who has been waiting 3 years for his chance and he was ready and stepped up tonight when he was called upon. Miguel Ramos once again played his heart out and he scored the only goal of the game on a PK, way to step up again tonight Miguel. Lots of new faces started and stepped up tonight getting their chance to make a difference. It was a tough game and the Titans should be proud for how they played and how they hung on and protected their 1--0 lead. We are off now until we travel this weekend to Norwalk for the Norwalk tourney. Please join us if you can, the first game will be against Perry at 10am. JV really stepped up tonight and played their hearts out as well. This is the team of tomorrow and they can be fun to watch. AL scored first just fourteen minutes into the game. Then 2 minutes later Zack Edwards and Jerry Orozco hooked up on the through ball and Jerry took it home. Three minutes later Lucas Thuler takes the shot on goal, it hits high and comes down, Jacob Charlseon is there for the rebound and puts it away. It stays this way essentially to the end of the game when we have a defensive breakdown and the tying goal. The game ends 2-2 but it is something to be proud. Great job JV.
