NEWS AND REMINDERS FOR YOUR FAVOURITE TV SHOWS

Watch The Simpsons on Channel 4 at 6pm on weekdays. If you miss an episode at any time on Channel 4, you can watch it an hour later with CHANNEL 4+1. The Simpsons is also on most Sunday afternoons on Channel 4 as part of T4 and the repeated episodes now shown are from the second season. Channel 4 are also repeating the fourteenth season of The Simpsons at a later time than usual each Friday evening (around 10.45-11.15pm) as well as the episode which airs at 6pm. Repeated episodes are also shown a lot on Sky1 and for the first time, the newest episodes on Sky1 are currently being broadcast in high definition and The Simpsons also has a new opening sequence.

Click here to enlarge the imageThe next DVD boxset which will contain the complete twelfth season of The Simpsons will finally be released on the 28th September 2009. There will be two different boxset designs available with the first being the standard boxset design and the other will be a limited edition Comic Book Guy head design. This DVD set will contain all 21 episodes and this will be the first DVD of the series to be released this year so far. These episodes which will be contained in this upcoming boxset was the episodes which were first shown on Channel 4 and new to the channel back in 2004. According to amazon.com, the design of the new DVD boxset will be based on the character of the Comic Book Guy.

The Simpsons Library of Wisdom have released 'The Marge Book' which is now available to buy from all good bookshops. This book is the ninth book in the series and there is another book which is going to be released later this year. This book will be called 'The Chief Wiggum Book', it will be the tenth book in the series and this will be released in September 2009.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show, Simpsons Comics are forming a very special three-part cover to issue 159, issue 160 and issue 161 (which is now available to buy from your newsagent) and each issue of Simpsons Comics comes with a free gift. The latest graphic novels entitled 'Simpsons Comics: Hit the Road' and 'Bart Simpson Son of Homer' have been released and they should be available to buy from all good bookshops. The Simpsons have also had a lot of computer game releases over the years, click here for a list of all the games from Wikipedia. BARGAIN: Simpsons fans will be pleased to know that you can now buy DVD boxsets of The Simpsons for just £20 each from HMV and they are also cheaper elsewhere in any other good DVD store. The Simpsons Game is on offer for £5 for the PlayStation 2 now at HMV.

Watch Futurama on Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3. There are four direct-to-DVD feature-length Futurama episodes in total with 'Bender's Big Score' being the first, 'The Beast with a Billion Backs' being the second and the third is called 'Bender's Game' leaving the fourth and final episode, which is called 'Into the Wild Green Yonder' and these are now available to buy on DVD. The final two feature-length episodes are also available to buy on Blu-ray disc in high definition. These DVDs are must haves for fans of the show. These feature-length episodes have been divided up into four and will air as standard 20-minute episodes and each feature-length episode will air as one whole episode on Sky1. After the success of DVD sales of the four feature-length episodes, Futurama may return for more new episodes sometime in the future. Futurama also has it's own video game. (This programme which is created by Matt Groening, can also be bought on video and DVD)

The Ren and Stimpy Show can be bought on DVD and video. The release date of the next DVD boxset - 'Season Five and Some More of Four' will appear here sometime when it's nearer to the time of release. Even though this boxset was expected to be released in 2008, it will probably be released either this year or next year instead. This programme has been seen on BBC TWO but unfortunately it ended in 1997. This programme can now be found on some of the children's cartoon channels like the Nicktoons Network which can be found either on sky TV, satellite TV or cable TV. Ren and Stimpy have also appeared in various video games.

BARGAIN: The complete seasons one and two of Ren and Stimpy can be bought on DVD for £15 at HMV.

The 'Family Guy: Season Seven' DVD boxset is now available to buy for a reduced price and it's a must have for fans of the show. A DVD boxset entitled 'Family Guy: Season Eight' is due for release on the 9th November 2009 (according to Wikipedia) which is shortly after the series has finished being aired on BBC THREE. This will contain the remaining four episodes from season 6 and the first nine episodes from season 7 and this upcoming boxset will be a must have for fans of the show. The DVD release date for the next Star Wars spoof which is titled 'Something, Something, Something, Dark Side' will also appear here when it's nearer to the time of release. Repeated episodes which are usually shown as double-bills are mostly shown every night on BBC THREE. Family Guy also has it's own video game.

BARGAIN: All seven DVD boxsets so far of Family Guy can be bought for just £10-£13 each from shops such as HMV and Sainsbury's, look around for the best deal! You can also buy 'Family Guy: Blue Harvest' and 'Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story' on DVD for just £7 each at HMV.
