Wonderwall Discography

Wonderwall is probably Oasis' greatest hit to date, it sold millions around the world and made No.1 in countries that Oasis had never even toured, the only thing it didn't do, as with 'Roll With It' was to become No.1 in England. Again, Oasis had to settle for the No.2 spot on it's release on the 30th October 1995 . Wonderwall became popular in English football grounds and a lot of other artists have taken the challenge of doing their own version, none comes close to Oasis. Wonderwall was written about Noel's fiancee, Meg Matthews. The name Wonderwall, is said to have come from a number of things, John Lennon once said it, mistakably in an interview instead of wonderful, George Harrison has an album and a song called 'Wonderwall Music' also it is said  that when the Gallaghers were young they had a wall in the back garden that they used to write on, they called it the Wonderwall.

 Track listing for 'Wonderwall'

When Noel was asked about this single he said, "Well it's for Meg. And it's a classic. What more can I say?"
One of the B-Sides on this single, 'Swamp Song' is purely instrumental, an extract of this can be found on WTSMG. At the end of 'The Masterplan' you can hear Noel faintly saying the words of a Beatles song

"I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade"

From Octopus' Garden which was written, and sung by Ringo Star
