26/03/98: No Single, No Album, No Oasis?
Are Oasis about to finish their great musical career? The answer is 'No', not for now at least. Recent reports have caused panic among Oasis fans as they feared their favourite band was about to end. We can assure you this is not the case, Oasis just need a break.

The rumour of their split came about as reports of Oasis' 'break' were misinterpreted and fans feared they were to end their career! Although Oasis are not to split a lot of rumours that were around the Internet were quashed. An Oasis spokesman has confirmed that Don't Go Away will Not be released in the UK, most likely Europe only.
The spokesman said
"There isn't going to be another single from this album in the UK. There's a video because the single's been out as a promo in the US and it's quite possible that it will come out in Europe and other territories. There's no reason why it's not coming out in the UK but is elsewhere. Different territories are worked in different ways."

The famous cover of Don't Go Away that is plastered around the net is actualy the cover of the promo and not the cover for a UK release.
It's also been suggested that Oasis may be taking an extended break, and also that there will be no Oasis album before 2000. Oasis fans are no strangers to these facts. It was previously thought that Oasis would be taking a break to watch the World Cup and that Noel said Oasis wouldn't be releasing another album until the year 2000.

The possibility of singles not on albums such as 'Whatever' hasn't been ruled out but is unlikely. It looks like we may have seen the last of Oasis for a while.

07/03/98: Confirmed: 'Don't Go Away' Single
Don't Go Away will be oasis' forth single from their current album, Be Here Now. It was always probable as it was released in America as a Radio Single. The new single, out in May sometime, is set to feature another great 'Oasis Style' cover, it will depict a scene of the old Liverpool Airport with a Boeing 747 flying overhead. The plane was imported into the airport scene, it was actually photographed while flying over Heathrow Airport.
Click here to see the cover, scanned in by Paul Ferreri. A signed cover was given, by Noel, to the Cystic Fibrosis Association to auction off. It's signed by all the band and should raise a lot of money.
What b-sides will accompany the single is unknown but a strong possibility is Helter Skelter, a Beatles cover song. Others may include some songs left off Be Here Now, 'On My Own' to name but one. Also, it's rumoured that 'Flying High' will be on the single
