Shakermaker
Discography
Shakermaker, Oasis' second single did considerably
better than their previous single. Released on the 20th June
1994 it reached No. 11 in the UK singles chart. The single had to undergo
some changes though before it could be released. Coca Cola said it sounded
too much like their theme tune, 'I'd like to teach the world to sing' so
some lyrical and musical changes had to be made before it could be released.
Some lyrics in the song refer to 'Mr. Sifter', they go
'Mr. Sifter sold me songs when I was just
16'
Mr. Sifter was an actual person that Noel
used to buy his records off when he was young.

The reason why Shakermaker is never sung live
in gigs is because Liam always ends up singing the wrong words, he always
sings the, "I'd like to teach the world to sing" bit.
