Some
Might Say Discography
Some Might Say was the first single to come
from the album '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?'
and is Oasis' first No.1 single in the UK. It seemed like a sign
of good tings to come from the album, as indeed it was. Originally it was
not going to be the single that was released, Alan McGee, before the singles
release on 24th April 1995, wanted to release Acquiesce because he
didn't think Some Might Say sounded like a No.1. The most significant event
around the time of the single's release was the sacking of the former drummer,
Tony McCarroll. After a punch up with Liam he was sacked and not long after,
Alan White, was hired. Alan had to learn the drums for Some Might Say over
night as Oasis had to perform on Top Of The Pops the next night.

This was the first song that Noel had written
when he moved to London to live. Noel says that it was inspired by listening
to The Faces. Noel said "As soon as I'd written Some Might Say I was absolutely
certain it would be a No.1 and I was right. I never had the slightest doubt."
