Supersonic was Oasis' first single. It was
released on the 16th April 1994 and only reached No.31 in the
UK's singles chart. Supersonic was written by Noel while he was in the
studio recording other tracks. The song includes the name Elsa, this is
actually the name of a dog that shit on the setee, Liam said it must have
eaten the Alka Seltzer and so came the line 'I know a girl called Elsa,
she's into Alka Seltzer'. Most of the other lines Noel came up with by
just idle rhyme. Supersonic was not going to be the bands first single,
the record company, Creation, wanted to release 'Bring It On Down' at the
time but as soon as they heard 'Supersonic' they knew that had to be released.

Although Supersonic did not go very far in
the chart, it is known to all Oasis fans as one of the great songs. The
video for the single was filmed on a rooftop, the Beatles had done in one
of their videos.
