| We know that the puppies will be spending a lot of time in a vehicle throughout its life. After two weeks of age we slowly introduce a vehicle to the puppies. First we place the puppies and the mom in the vehicle with the engine off. After they get comfortable with the suuroundings of a vehicle, we place the puppies and the mom in the vehicle with the engine running. Next, we drive the puppies around the block or so to get them used to the sounds that a vehicle makes. Then we drive faster and longer to get them accustomed to the outside noise. This way, the puppy will grow up believing that automobiles are part of life which, as it happens they are. The same is true for the veterinary office. We make sure that the puppies are accustomed to going and being handled by the veterinarian. |
