Born To Be A Rambling Man
Copyright 2004: Second Wind

I've tried my hand as a working man
Didn't turn out to be half bad
But it didn't turn out to be much fun
So I started back doing what I've always done
Bendin' guitar strings and gettin' paid to sing
Stayin' out all night, no alarm clock ring
I get up early every afternoon
And eat my lunch by the light of the moon

I was born to be a rambling man out on the open road
Tirelessly devoted to the seeds that I've sewn
I might as well be trying to be the president I'm told
But I'm not afraid to gamble on the cards that I hold

For a second time I gave love a try
But that woman couldn't keep me satisfied
Said that she loved me for who I am
But she'd turned me into a different man
Sittin' on the couch while my friends went out
Ain't what livin' is all about
Now I travel these roads and sing my songs
Wherever I go I never stay long
