2003 Heckler-Koch USPc9
The designation, USPc9, identifies the compact, single stack 9x19mm HK USP pistol. A basic exploded diagram, taken from the manual, shows the essentials of the pistol:

This particular pistol is a variant I pistol. The variant I is characterized by A) Bobbed hammer B) DA/SA operation C) Manual safety D) Safety lever also decocks E) Safety/Decocker on left instead of right. The 10 variants are represented in the chart below. Each variant is supposed to be convertible to another variant

Here are two pictures of a USPc9 with magazine inserted. Notice the finger rest. Magazines can also be obtained with flat floorplates without the finger rest for superior concealment. The magazine pictured is a 10 round magazine but 13 round magazines are available. The pistol is a variant I.

Field stripping the USP series pistol is a snap. The whole pistol can be broken down for cleaning in about 9 seconds. The first step is to depress the magazine catch and clear any magazine from the pistol. Next, cycle the slide a couple of times to make sure no round is chambered. Visually inspect the chamber and carefully do a tactile (with your finger) inspection to make certain no round is chambered.

Please note that in the picture above, a magazine is still in the pistol. When actually field stripping a pistol, you will have cleared the magazine before performing the next step. As indicated by the picture, the slide needs to be moved rearward until the notch in the slide lines up with flange on the slide release lever/pin. The pin and the notch are circled in red above.
