The White Lightning ends up destroying an empty hat. Now, Yugi sets a trap within one of the three hats left. "Kaiba" attacks the hat that has the trap, and it is revealed to be Yugi's Hexagram Curse (e. Spell Binding Circle). This prevents Blue Eyes from attacking, and reduces its strength by 700. The Black Magician destroys the Blue Eyes.
One turn later, "Kaiba" summons another Blue Eyes and destroys the Black Magician. The real Kaiba, in his quest to save his company, uploads a virus to the second Blue Eyes. Yugi has no choice and lays a Gremlin (e. Pharaoh Imp) in attack. The Blue Eyes begins to decay, as the virus is working.
The fake Kaiba reveals his true identity as the Death Iminator (a "Player Killer" or "Eliminator" hired by Pegasus to eliminate people from the tourney). In the English version, it is revealed as the evil presence within Kaiba that Yugi sent to the Shadow Realm. The Death Iminator summons the third Blue Eyes and runs right in to a Holy Barrier - Mirror Force. He protects himself with Attack Nullification.
During this time, Yugi had played Holy Elf and powered it up via Tome of Secrets (e. Book of Secret Arts). Yugi plays Raise Dead to one of the Blue Eyes. He transfers the Holy Elf's attack power to Blue Eyes and annihilates the Death Iminator.
After the duel, Yugi and the gang see that Mokuba has disappeared again.
