| COMPANY BIOs James B. Leighton, son of H. James Leighton, has become the new owner of our company! Leighton Drilling Co., LLC. James has been in the drilling field for over 20 years. Jim Leighton Drilling Company was established in 1971. H. J. Leighton previously worked for his father-in-laws� company, Ralph L. Toy Drilling Company in Distant, PA as a driller. Mr. Leighton bought a drilling rig from Mr. Toy and began his own business years after working for him. The Leighton Family has been in business now for over 35 years serving Armstrong surrounding counties. The company is family owned and operated by H. James & wife Joan; son, Jimmy, new owner and drilling contractor; daughter, Kelli Leighton-Myers, manages his office and the secretarial work; and brother-in-law Brad is our head Pump Technician. In the beginning, our main work was water wells, coring blast holes, and drilling test holes. Now, our company specializes in water wells, pump installation, and water conditioning yet also continues with some blast and testing holes as well as geothermal. Other family owned businesses which stemmed from Ralph L. Toy Drilling Company include J.D. Lamison Drilling Company from Prospect, PA (Mr. J. D. Lamison); Phillips Drilling of Indiana, PA (Mr. Ron Phillips); and Toy Drilling Company of Distant, PA, (formerly owned by Dick Toy and newly owned by Gary Toy).
