Leiko Danse's Cegep program was created by Jessica Cumberbirch to offer formal dance training for passionate and aspiring professional dancers. The program is designed to help each student progress the most effectively. Body assessments, strength training and flexibility work are tailored to students' needs in addition to their other dance classes and rehearsals for Leiko Danse II*. Throughout the program, students attend live performances, study the history of dance and watch dance videos with Jessica in order to learn how to analyse dance technique and gain a better understanding of dance repertoire.
Jessica's knowledge of professional contemporary dancing, stretching and strength training, release work and visualization techniques are all very present in her ballet classes. The students learn to release muscle tension in order to move more efficiently and to reach their potential as expressive individuals. The program accepts eight students per year ensuring individual attention and a "hands on approach" to correction. The program encourages students to continue their education while furthering their technical abilities and artistic growth.
