"Le Mirage enter finals"

Thizzizit and Le Mirage enter finals. "TWO new bands in Bahrain. Thizzizit of Aradous Hotel and Le Mirage of Ramada Hotel. Last night captured the last two seats in the finals of the 1998 Battle of the Bands at the Diplomat Hotel. The bands played a vriety of songs with sincere simplicity to gain the seats. Thizzizit and Le Mirage join the  Clippers of Regency Hotel and Out of the Blue of Adhari Hotel in a grand final showdown on 3 June. Other participants in the second semi-final round were Shahata & Vox B Band of Palace Inn and Under Rage of Hard Rock Cafe. Budweiser Beer sponsored the event. Ronald Regalado"..."Le Mirage, the other qualifier, merely performed songs from the heart, whithout additional stage props and colourful costumes. Stella the lead vocalist, and Bing, another singer, told the crowd that the band was a newcomer in Bahrain. Stella and Bing narrated their experience in Japan before rendering a version of Yesterday by the Beatles, the theme song of the movie Titanic by Celin Dion and solo performance by Jerry, the lead guitarist, and Ricky, the drummer. Lending able support is the keyboard player Rene"

width="253" "Aradous Hotel and Le Mirage from the Ramada Hotel will proceed to the Finals to be held tomorrow. Thizzizzit's performance was extremely energetic and their electric dance routines had the crowds bopping to the beat as they belted out a variety of songs in their own unique style. Le Mirage's performance was equally entertaining and skilfully humorous causing outbursts of laughter and cheers of joy from the gathered spectators."

"Thizzizzit and Le Mirage join the first semi-final winners. Out of the Blue from the adhari Hotel and Clippers Band form the Regency Inter-Continental Hotel in this musical extravaganza of the year. The competition is expected to be intense and very exciting to find the Bud Battle of the Bands Winner for 1998."
"Rounding off the evening was the Le Mirage in the prelims"
"Rounding off the evening was the Le Mirage in the prelims they came across as a competent group with a sense of humour. This they displayed on stage in the semis though I personally thought that the guitar solo was a little long and self indulgent. However, that bein said, the guitarist was th only one to conduct a solo which included jazz and classical Spanish music as well as rock. The results surprised a lot of people. The two bands that went through to the finals on July 3 are the Thizzizit and Le Mirage. The final will be a hot competition between four competant bands. Out of the Blue, the Clipper, Le Mirage and Thizzizzit along with their cheering fans. All that I can predict with any accuracy is that the final will be a great afternoon with exellent bands and a variety of musical styles and tastes to suit everbody."

Le Mirage win Battle of Bands

"Le Mirage from Ramada Hotel were declared the best band in Bahrain after winning the championship title at the Bad Battle of the Bands contest at Diplomat Hotel yesterday. Over 4,000 people witnessed the event. The best Costume winners were Shahata and the Vox B Band from Hotel Palace Inn. Thizzizzit from Aradous Hotel got the best choreography prize. Jerry from the winners' group won the prize for the best solo guitar performance"
"Le Mirage...clear winners"
Battle of the Bands best judged so far..."In The last four tears that we have been following the Bud Battle of the Bands, we strongly believe that the last one was the best judged so far. Whil many would insist that Thizzizzit or Under Rage or even Shahata and Vox B should have been given the final nod, to us the Le Mirage band were the clear winners. They gave us pure, clean music and proved beyond doubts that clarity of ton and musicality still counted in these competitions. For once, here was a band who gave us the pleasure of being able to svour every word of every son we were listening to. We had listened to all the bands, except Le Mirage band befoere the finals, so we didn't know what to expect when the group went on stage. However, even at the start, we could feel that this group was different from the others. Their professionalism was at onec edvident, the moment they stepped on the stage. They definitely had 'it' and 'it' was class, something the other groups had filed to bring to the competition. And when Le Mirage started performing, they showed us that they were not all 'ound and fury' like the others. They were there not to bedazzle people with their colourful costumes, breathtaking choreography and often tasteless antics to hide the inadequacies of their over-amplified voices. The judges truly made an intelligent decision in declarin this group  the winner for this year, for after all, this was not a 'Battle of Rock Bands', hereabout usually a contest where everyone tries to play the loudest and noisiest. So to LE MIRAGE band permit us to say 'You are the real winners!"
