This tutorial teaches you how to install Greymatter. You need a hosted site or domain that supports CGI. If you are hosted, as your host! You also need to know how to CHMOD. Credit goes to Jenny!
Just follow the directory to where your Greymatter is located. Whatever it takes to find gm.cgi. Be sure to include the folder (if you made one)!
Once you get to the login page, the username is Alice and the password is wonderland. Make sure that Alice has a CAPITAL in the beginning!
Press Enter, and you will be taken to the menu.
Find Edit Authors, and click that.
On the top, it shows the author and they information. Click on the circle under Select, and then click Edit Selected Author.
You will be taken to a screen. For all the choices, make sure they are all checked a "yes".
Edit the information to what applies to you.
Once you are done editing, scroll down and click Save Changes to This Author.
You might want to write down your new username and password so you don't forget.
Now that you are done editing your info, return to the main menu and click Configuration.
Change the settings to your satisfication, and to what applies to it.
When you are done that, go back to the main menu and click Edit Templates. Here, you will get a chance to edit the look of your gm so that it fits your layout.
Edit all the templates. When you are done, go to the main menu and click rebuild files.
Then click rebuild everything.
You are done! If you want to add an entry, go to the main menu and click the long green button that says "Add A New Entry". This is where you will always go to add an entry.
Keep in mind that when you put gm on your site that it is much more easier to put it in an iframe!
