The candidate involves P-12 students
and their families in reflection upon their own diverse backgrounds and
learning experiences; the results of these reflections are then used to
improve the candidate's assessment and instruction practices
Introduction
This domain requires that the candidate work with families and students in reflective activities on their diverse backgrounds. These reflective exercises are then used by the candidate to design assessments and lessons that meet the needs of the families and students.

Classroom Local History Expert Guest Photo & Activities for School Improvement
Exhibit Explanation
The photo was taken when a local author came into class
to discuss local history with students. The activities focus on real life
student needs.
Rationale
The items used in this exhibit are
examples of the involvement of community members, families and students
in the reflection on diverse backgrounds and needs. The activities from
the school improvement plan were developed with parent and student input.
These activities and the data gathered from them have been used to improve
student instruction and assessments.

These activities allowed me to become more familar with the students, their families and the area.
