Khen Rinpoche, Geshe Lobsang Jamyang, was born in Kham Lithang of Eastern
Tibet in 1933. He entered the Lithang Monastery at the age of fourteen, and at age 22 he
entered the Sera Mey monastery in Lhasa. After the 1959 Chinese invasion of Tibet, Khen Rinpoche followed the Dalai Lama into exile in India. He was given the highest Geshe degree, Lharampa, in 1984. Rinpoche has taught in Brazil, and USA. In 1994, Rinpoche went to Canada, Ontario, teaching at various dharma centers in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. In 1995 he was selected to be the abbot of Sera Mey monastery. |
