Draw the glider.
Watch the glider move by pressing space bar.
Now we are going to try highlife.
Select the color yellow.
Click on the table entry at the first row and 7th columon.
Watch the glider move by pressing space bar.
You should see that the glider also exists in high life too.
Draw the replicator.
Watch the replicator replicate.
Now we are going to try brian's brain.
Select the color black from the color box.
Clear the the rule table by making every entry black.
Select the color red from the color box.
Make all the entries in the second row red.
Select the color yellow from the color box.
Make the entry on the first row and third colmun yellow.
Go to file->new.
You should see a dialog box that saids new universe.
Fill out the form on the dailog box as showed below

and click on apply.
You should now see a rectangle made out of random cells.
Press space bar many times to watch many gliders and ships appear.
You could try varaints of brian's brain by editing the
rule table and trying the different rules.
For example you try making the entry on the first row and fifth colmun yellow.
Now we are going the change the colors.
Go to edit->edit state to bring up the window that lets you edit states.

Click on the color red in the color box.
Click on the colored button that's colored red right next where it saids state 2 color.
Select the color orange using the color dialog.
Click on the button that saids update.
Click on the color blue in the color box.
Click on the colored button that's colored blue right next where it saids state 3 color.
Select the color purple using the color dialog.
Click on the button that saids update.
the colors are now yellow, orange and purple.
now we are going to try adding colors.
Go to edit->add state to add a new state.
Click on the colored button that's colored white right next where it saids state 4 color to select a new color for the new state.
Change the value of the new state from 1 to 0 by editing the text field
right next to where it saids state 4 value.
Click on the button that saids update.
click on the colored button that's colored white right next where it saids state 5 color to select a new color for the new state.
Change the value of the new state from 1 to 0 by editing the text field
right next to where it saids state 5 value.
Click on the button that saids update.
now lets give state 2 the value of 1
click on the color orange in the color box.
Change the value of the state 2 from 0 to 1 by editing the text field
right next to where it saids state 2 value.
Draw this glider.
Press the space bar many times to watch it move
as you can see, yellow and orange now both have the value of 1.
