Personally, i think that, you know, with the whole overweight populace and all, clothing makers are seeking to reassure everyone by making their clothes a taddy bit bigger!

This may sound ridiculous, but it's true... and, hehe, take for instance my favoritest brand of underwear, H&H microfiber hipsters.  When i first discovered them they came in basic black, white and booring old beige(and yes, i meant to spell it that way).  Anyway, they stopped making it for awhile (during which i was scolding myself for not having invested more heavily into comfy non-granny-panties), but when they were in stock again, they were more roomier and stretchier and all.  i know, i know, who wants to know how my undies fit, but it's true...
size conspiracy??
Okay, okay, how about a more conventional example (i.e., without mention of undies).  Well, when i started working at Mervyns in 2001 i could fit into an H&H brand XS sweater.  Now, in 2004 i still fit an H&H brand XS sweater.  What does that have to do with anything? i am now about **strengthening sniffle** 10 pounds heavier, and am more meaty everywhere.  If that doesn't convince you, what will?

Another example... Levis Jeans: 2 or 3 years ago i fit a size 1 or a size 3.  in the last couple of years i started wearing a size 7... but this year i went back to a size 3.  Crazy huh? Or maybe it's reassuring... or maybe it's just the pant style... hmm....

well, how about
Old Navy? i know that definitely i used to fit a size small or extra small. and then after i started getting fatty from all that junkfood/fastfood consumption, i kinda had to start wearing medium, although medium didn't fit too well (i sorta got more buxom as well).  but in this last year i actually bought more and more small and extra small shirts.  the pants, well, Old Navy pants are never actually very consistent in size because of all the different styles, but i've stayed a size 4.
