The Church Ground Community Club, in conjunction with the Dynamic Social Club, staged the second Annual Labour Day Cross Country Road Race on Monday 3rd May. The race commenced from Church Grounds via Hamilton, Craddock Road, Ramsbury, Government Road, Pump Road, the Island Main Road and Bath Village, to the "VILLA" in Charlestown, a distance of some 8.5 kilometres.
Vernice Wattley won the female category, with Gail Jeffers second and Edris Fellows third. Shervan Greene won the male event, with Carlston Julius second and James Weekes third. The Clubs awarded trophies to the 1st three finishers - numerous other awards were presented, donated by the Business sector and individuals. |
