Suikoden was a brilliant RPG, and Suikoden 2 brought it to new limits. These two games were only the beginning of what promises to be a stunning RPG series that could rival even the great Final Fantasy. With Suikoden 3 scheduled for release on Playstation 2, something needed to whet the appetites of Suikoden fans around Japan. Thus, Konami created Suikogaiden Volume 1, Swordsman of Harmonia, the first in a smaller, text-based series set in the world of Suikoden. Swordsman of Harmonia takes place during the Suikoden 2 story, and stars a Harmonian warrior named Nash and Sierra Mikain, a main character from Suikoden 2. From other screenshots, it is apparent that other characters appear in Suikogaiden 1, including the Hero, Nanami, Jowy, Pilika, Leona, Jillia, Luca and Rowd. Because of the lack of interest in text based games in North America, Konami has decided not to import Suikogaiden or its sequels.
On the left is Nash, the main character, an ambidextrous swordsman from the Holy Lands of Harmonia. From what I can tell from screenshots, he may have been hired by the Highland army to fight against the City State, but may have been tricked into it like Sasarai from Suikoden 2.
Sierra, a main character from Suikoden 2 appears to be the heroine of the story. In screenshots, she is seen with an unidentified man and also Nash. The story may revolve around the Blue Moon Village and the Moon Rune.
The Blights also appear in Suikogaiden Volume 1. It seems that Nash may be taking orders from Luca and the Highlands, but also sympathises with princess Jillia.
The heroic trio also appears in Suikogaiden 1. They are shown in one screenshot, during the scene where they leave Pilika in Leona's care. Nash is later seen talking with Leona and Pilika. Nanami is shown in another screenshot wearing an apron, and Jowy is also in another screenshot, captured by Rowd.

When I can get some new info on Suikogaiden, I will post it here. Stay tuned!
