Books that I've read this summer:

Tales of the Slayer Vol. 2

ManifestA by Amy Richards and Jennifer Baumgardner (I started reading this at work and have been reading it on the long bus ride that I took to Stout...excellent piece on the history and present of Second and Third-wave feminism)

Stop Kiss by Diana Son (I've read it before, but I wanted to read it again...very moving...excellently done)

The Laramie Project by The Tectonic Theatre Company (just read it)

Oranges Aren't the Only Fruit (Interesting style of writing...once you get into it, you're hooked).

What Looks Like Crazy on an ordinary day... by Pearl Cleage (Amazing book...read it immediately)

Onyx by Falice Picano (In the middle of reading...haven't had much time to read lately)

Reading the Vampire Slayer edited by Roz Kaveney (a set of essays that look at Buffy: TVS and Angel from a scholarly viewpoint.  Highly enjoyable and interesting if you are interested in either the show or educational deconstruction)

Tales of the Slayer Vol. 1 by various authors (Fascinating read, especially if you're a fan of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.  Each story kept my attention and added quite well to the detail of the show)

Cunt by Inga Muscio (amazing book...everyone should read it)

The Big Book of Misunderstanding by Jim Gladstone (I finished this in about two days in my spare time...though it had a few problem parts, the majority of the book more than makes up for the problems)

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (easy to pick up after long breaks...great read)

Books that I read last summer:

Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason by Helen Fielding

Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris

A Density of Souls by Christopher Rice (amazing book...not for the definisively heterosexual)

Take the Cannoli by Sarah Vowell (humor...personal anecdotes...fun writing style...and it teaches some history without taking on the form of a textbook...imagine that.  I literally felt guilty putting this book down.)

I'm the One that I Want by Margaret Cho

Books that I've enjoyed in the past (and recommend that you read as well):

Naked by David Sedaris

Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris

A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen

Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen

The Stand by Stephen King

Four Past Midnight by Stephen King

Jurassic Park by Micheal Crichton

The Rainmaker by John Grisham

My Point...and I Do Have One by Ellen DeGeneres

Don't Get Me Started by Kate Clinton

Stop Kiss by Diana Son

Scream by Kevin Williamson

Good Will Hunting by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

Dogma by Kevin Smith
