B24 Liberator

Built by Consolidated aircraft Corporation, the B24 was used in all theaters of the war. It was used extensively in the Pacific because of it's range. Although generally not as well liked as the much more 'pretty' B17 Flying Fortress, the B24 played a major role in all theaters of WWII. A more difficult plane to fly than the B17 it could still take a lot of punishment and bring it's crews home safe. Used a lot by the 9th Air Force in Italy, it alsoflew many missions into the German heartland.
