Bristol Beaufighter, 143rd Squadron

The Beaufighter was a brilliant derivative of the Blenheim and Beaufort. It was pug ugly but a great attack aircraft. Armed with four Hispano cannons and six .303 machine guns it could also carry rockets and bombs, making it a nightmare for enemy transport. (Courtesy Andrew Bird)
