Schutzenpanzerwagen (SdHfz) 251 Armored Personnel Carrier

At the start of WWII, thanks to Josef Goebbels excellent propaganda machine, it was believed that the German army was a fully mechanized, swift moving force, with troops riding to battle in vehicles like this. While certainly swift moving, it was unknown to the allies that most of the German army relied on horses and manpower to move the bulk of their equipment. The few vehicles like the SdKfz that were available, were given to elite forces like the Waffen SS. A reliable and trusty workhorse, the SdKfz saw action in all theaters of WWII, often used to tow artillery pieces it was also used in a variety of other roles. Whether fitted with anti-aircraft guns or a six barreled 'Nebelwerfur' rocket launcher, the SdKfz was indeed a useful addition to the Wehrmacht.
