Hawker Hurricane IId

Although its 334 mph max speed made it outdated as a fighter by the time of the Italian campaign, the 'Hurri' was fitted with 40mm cannon slung under each wing, bomb racks, etc and became a respectable ground attack / tank busting plane. The Hurricane also equipped some allied air forces in the Far East, it performed reasonably well against the Zero, although not as fast or maneuverable it was much better armed and armored. The Hurricane remained in service throughout WWII although by 1942 the Spitfire had taken over as the premier Commonwealth fighter.
