PREP

{PREP was presented in two interations: As part of the Bridgeport Dance party & In conjuction with the Proximity Magazine Release on the issue of Food and Art} 

JiMaoC4′s Prep is a project which explores the parallels between the aestheticized yet everyday process of food preparation and the idea of artistic work.  Food is prepared on a custom-built, specialized light tool designed to illuminate the edges of a glass work surface. Cameras and microphones are mounted underneath the surface which can create a visual/auditory record, real-time projections, and recorded material ripe for artistic investigation. These investigations include still images, videos, collaborative public performance and installation events. The Prep project aspires to bridge the world of fine art and entrepreneurial initiative.
