Happy Hanukkah! Merry Belated Christmas! Happy Kwanzaa! And in honor of my Brit roomies, Happy Boxing Day!

Corona has pictures of some of the apes for POTA!

The NY Daily News rehashes the Matt Damon/Mark feud with added comments from last month's London Telegraph interview.

A behind-the-scene look at The Basketball Diaries from 1994's Premiere special NY issue. Also added listing of what will be coming up, besides making it easier to link things later, it'll give you an inkling of what to look forward to.

This might be the final update for 2000 as I am going to my sister's place to help her with New Year parties. So have a happy and sane New Year! Thank you all for visiting and sharing in my madness :) And look for even more stuff 2001!

12-29
British take on Mark doing The Truth About Charlie and possible filming locations.

From the Boston Herald 12/26: 'And speaking of the Wahlbergs, what's this we hear about Donnie's brother, the ever-hunky Mark Wahlberg, introducing galpal Jordana Brewster as "my wife''?

Could it be that Mark's snuck off and settled down??? Not according to the alleged bride and the buds of the alleged groom.

Brewster, a 20-year-old Yale sophomore, shoots down the wedding talk in the new W maggie. "I have no idea where people get that (we're married),'' Brewster huffs.

Well, perhaps it's because she has three stacked rings on her wedding-ring finger. But the ingenue said those are from her parents, not the Dorchester homey.

As for the Rapper Formerly Known as Marky Mark, his buddies told the Track he has "no plans to get married and he doesn't want to be married.''

"What he wants is to work for the next 15 years, then disappear to a tropical island where nobody will ever hear his name again,'' said a F.O.M.M.

All alone? Poor Jordana!'

A behind the scenes article about Boogie Nights from Premiere

Don't forget, The Perfect Storm debuts on Pay Per View this Friday!

12-28
Posted the June 1997 Movieline interview.

12-27
From Wall of Sound: 'Jenkins, of course, will also be on the big screen in April in Rock Star, the Judas Priest-inspired film that stars Mark Wahlberg as a singer in a heavy metal tribute band who gets a chance to sing with the real group. "I play his arch nemesis," Jenkins reports. "I'm in a rival band. It was a ball." But he, like others, isn't so sure about the new title, switched from Metal God after the studio couldn't come to terms with former Priest singer Rob Halford, who holds the copyright to that name. I like Metal God better," Jenkins says, "but the marketing department says Rock Star is better. I can't believe that, but what can I do, right?"'

The San Diego Film Society honored Joaquin's work in Gladiator, Quills and The Yards! Added it to my mock ad.

With the upcoming New Year, newspapers are having thier best/worst lists. My kinda local paper, the San Francisco Chronicle, named James Gray, Most Gifted Undiscovered Director and The Yards for Outstanding Ensemble Acting!

Still no scanner, but added the April '96 Details interview, the same one that featured the infamous drag pictures! For those younger readers, Mark's got a potty mouth in this one so make sure your parents don't read it!

12-26
Added the April 95 issue of US to my transcripts

12-24
From LA Times: '"Boogie Nights" star Mark Wahlberg has been sued in Los Angeles Superior Court over a car accident last year near the Beverly Center. Maurice and Melissa Levy seek unspecified damages for injuries they say they received the Dec. 14, 1999, collision.

No comment from Wahlberg's reps. But it looks like Marky Mark would have been better off leaving his ride in parky park.'

12-22
A POTA set report from Aint it cool News, no Mark sightings tho!

Redid my transcript pages and added two old magazine inteviews - No pictures as I don't have a scanner :(

ET showed a 2 minute clip from Rock Star. It looks great!

12-21
Went magazine shopping, and found a For Your Consideration ad for Mark in 'The Perfect Storm' in The Hollywood Reporter (12/19-25)! Gotta love the WB!

The American Cinematographer (November) has an article on the filming of 'The Yards'. It focuses on the lighting of the film, no real pics of Mark, just a long shot of the alleyway scene. Still interesting if you're into behind the scene technical stuff.

This weeks People (25 intriguing issue) had a quote from Mark about his fave music.  Paraphrasing: Wyclef Jean latest album and LL Cool J's GOAT.

Arg! NO Rock Star! They said coming up, but it never did! ET needs to be charged with false advertising!

12-20
Congrats to Joaquin to another supporting actor nod from the Broadcast Film Critics for all three of his movies! More reason for Miramax to do something about The Yards!

Entertainment Tonight just announced Rock Star coverage is on Tomorrow! Yea! Check your local listings for times!

12-18
TigerLily reports ET is having a first look at Mark's next movie, Rock Star 12-19!! Added 2 dates to calendar!

Aint it cool News and Dark Horizons had insider reports on POTA! Seems news of 3 different teaser posters may not be true, with it set to come out 2001. As for promotions, Garth's source cites a X-Men type promotion, meaning tons of coverage.

12-16
From MovieHeadlines.Net: Real Scan Planet of the Apes Figures

In the February 2001 issue of Toyfare, they have an interesting article about Gentle Giant Studios, a company that scans real world objects and helps turn them into realistic toys:

They put the attitude in JAKK's WWF action figures. They put the angel in their Charlie's Angels dolls. And in 2001, they'll use the Force. They are the creative minds at Gentle Giant Studios, and thanks to futuristic scanning technology that yields ultra-realistic toys, the company is making the biggest impact on the toy industry since the kung-fu grip.

"We want to bring toys and prototypes to a higher level," said Karl Meyer, president of Gentle Giant Studios. And have they ever! Based in sunny Burbank, Calif., Gentle Giant pioneered Real Scan technology, a process that has turned the industry on its ear and nabbed the company deals to work on some of the world's hottest properties.

"We've been working with Fox Studios, scanning the major actors like Mark Wahlberg for the upcoming Planet of the Apes remake," Meyer said. "In addition to that, we just got back from New Zealand after scanning the principle actors in the Lord of the Rings film for Toy Biz."

However, what could possibly be their biggest project to date involves a film with a simple name but with huge blockbuster potential. A little project called Episode II.

"We took our scanning division to the set of Star Wars: Episode II and scanned the major actors, vehicles, and sets," Meyer explained.

Another POTA set report from Aint it cool News.

12-15
Variety reports on product placement in movies. Mentions The Perfect Storm's drink placements.

Dark Horizons has a set report on POTA from a scooper.

Also the NY Daily News reports with Jordana denying any marriage with our favorite guy. Now we have it from both sides!

12-14
E Factor and Mark decided to put to rest rumors of Mark being married. He's not, take that Ted Casablanca!

Variety reports on how much Fox spent in Ridgecrest to build the POTA 'city'.

Dark Horizons, supposedly has the POTA teaser Poster here and here. Also Corona also reports some theatres are putting the posters out, no indication of cast or the title. Just the tagline and release date. The makeup look great!

TNT's Rough Cut has some interesting comments on Miramax. From David Poland:
"THE READERS WANT... BUT WON’T GET

American Psycho, The House of Mirth, Spring Forward, The Yards, Nurse Betty

I’ve gotten e-mail on all five of these films, but I don’t see any magic happening. All of the movies have likable qualities... but to get Oscar nods for films like these, they need to overwhelm people. No such luck.

I don’t really see the need to going through every category again at this point. I think you get the idea. There are lots of possibilities and lots of fights to be fought.

Here is my message to the studios and publicists... FIGHT HARD! Enlist your fans in the professional ranks. Use every opportunity to get your talent in front of Academy voters. Be clever. Find a special place in people’s hearts... even if you have to embarrass yourself. I now believe that the teams that fight the hardest this year will win the day and get the nominations. To quote Traffic... no one gets away clean. Well, no one with a movie that has a real chance."

Also Poland's opinion on the LA Times article on The Yards.

12-13
According to Makin, Mark wasn't at the Family Man Premiere. USA Today reports he was at the annual Fire and Ice Ball in LA Monday. Also Variety has an interview with Harvey Weinstein, Prez of Miramax.

Warner Brothers is doing a nice job with a website of their Oscar hopefuls, with more screenings than I had listed. Miramax has The Yards on it's screening list, even tho none are listed. Maybe they'll have some in 2001. They have to at least push Joaquin's win at the National Review.

12-12
Dark Horizons also reports George Clooney is NOT in POTA according to press junket quotes.

More from Variety about 'Charlie'
Looks like Mark is doing "The Truth About Charlie," So those of you in Europe, look out for Mark sightings starting around March!

Those in the LA Area, don't forget Mark is appearing at the 'Family Man' Premiere tonight!

Checking Variety's Oscar watch, looks like Miramax is doing NOTHING for The Yards. They're having special screenings for Academy voters for every other movie they had out this year. Best hopes may lay in The Perfect Storm which has screenings in the US and UK.

Note: Most screenings are for academy members only, and industry professionals will be given priority seating. Call ahead to confirm available seating.

Dark Horizons reports from . . .That website About Tim Buton: "A good friend was going camping recently in the desert near Death Valley in a place called Trona. When they arrived at the Trona monuments, about a half an hour through the desert ,away from the town, they discovered a huge space ship crashed into the side of a mountain. Apparently they were quickly approached and told they needed to keep away because they were filming the new Planet of the Apes there. Find a nearby hilltop and a good telescope and you might be able to see it happen live."

12-09
Just heard Chicken Run had a 3 page advert in Variety. Come on Miramax! Anyway I added my mock ad for Best Picture for The Yards. It should load a bit faster than Mark's mock ad. I'm still trying to lower the size w/o distorting the text on the picture. As always send me feedback/comments via e-mail or guestbook.

12-08
Mark is supposed to be at Universal's 'The Family Man' Premiere Tuesday, Dec. 12. Does this appearance mean Mark is doing Universal's 'The Truth About Charlie,' the remake of Charade? Also read Demme and PT Anderson (dir. Boogie Nights) have talked about another project. Could PT have recommended Mark for the role? Maybe, Maybe not!

Added all of Mark's official movie pages to the links page.

12-07
Thanks to Amy, seems Ted Casablanca is reporting Mark IS married to Jordana. Now I trust this guy as far as I can spit. He's been the one running the George & Mark affair rumor for a year now. My reasons on why I think it's just that, a rumor is on the MW.com MBs. Read the story here. (side note MTV is reporting Fred Durst is very serious with a girl he met on the road, could that be the final catalyst?)

12-06
Ananova reports Heston is out of POTA and George is in!

Kinda OT, Joaquin Phoenix won the National Board of Reviews award for best supporting actor for his roles in Gladiator, The Yards and Quills. Oh almost forgot Ellen Burstyn recieved a lifetime achievement award from the same organization.

Warner Bros. just announced The Perfect Storm is being shown in digital format in NY & LA with a special Q & A for Wolfgang Petersen.

Thnx to MonkD_girl for the heads up on The Guardian's Best scene articles highlighting The Yards.

Also The Observer (UK) reports on Heston and a possible appearance by George Clooney in POTA.

12-05-00
I was a very good girl today and finished the transcript of Mark's interview with Charlie Rose. I'm doing this for the international folks who don't get CR, so don't sue! You can read it here.

OK I was running late this morning and never got around to updating. Just the bare facts, the interview was almost 13 minutes long. He was wearing the same clothes as in the Letterman interview (it was taped on the same day). He talked about The Perfect Storm and Boogie Nights in addition to The Yards. Charlie as usual asked some very good questions. I'm about a quarter way thru transcribing. Hopefully by Thursday night, it'll be posted here. I'll leave you with one quote which I think describes me pretty well too!

CR: You do alot of research?
MW: Yes. Fanatic.
CR: Fanatic?
MW: Yeah.

West Coast folks, Mark's interview with Charlie Rose was On Tonight! Sorry to those who missed it, I had no idea this was on until I tuned in. I'll work on a transcript as soon as possible, barring Finals and other school stuff. My roomie's asleep, so I'll post some hilites in the late morning.

The Edmonton Journal had an interview with Tim Roth and let some details on POTA out.

12-04
Miramax responded to the LA Times article with a letter to the editor.

Also Redford is close to signing for the Castle and DreamWorks is still pursuing Mark.

A Little OT, Donnie is set to star in a CBS police drama:
"Four recruits join 'Big Apple' beat By Nellie Andreeva

LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Michael Madsen ("Species"), Donnie Wahlberg ("The Sixth Sense"), Kim Dickens ("Hollow Man") and Jeffrey Pierce ("Random Shooting in L.A.") have joined the "Big Apple" force. The four have been added to the cast of the upcoming David Milch/Anthony Yerkovich cop series for CBS from Paramount Network Television, joining Ed O'Neill and Titus Welliver.

Madsen will play a bar owner with connections to the FBI who has let the bureau turn his barrelhouse into a secret base. Wahlberg will play an associate of Madsen's character who looks and acts tough but has a softer side. Dickens will be an affable, smart agent who is transferred to New York from the bureau's Denver office. Pierce will play an ambitious New York policeman.

Madsen, brother of Virginia Madsen, has FBI experience -- of a sort. He was on the wrong side of the law in the feature "Donnie Brasco" about an FBI undercover agent and in Quentin Tarantino's crime thriller "Reservoir Dogs." He most recently did another cop movie, "LAPD: To Protect and to Serve," opposite Dennis Hopper. His other feature credits include "Free Willy," "Wyatt Earp" and "Thelma & Louise."

Wahlberg, brother of Mark Wahlberg and a onetime New Kid on the Block, was featured in the Mel Gibson starrer "Ransom" and will appear in the upcoming HBO World War II miniseries "Band of Brothers," executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

Dickens' feature credits include "Mercury Rising" and "Great Expectations."

Pierce recently portrayed John F. Kennedy Jr. in the CBS miniseries "Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis."

Wahlberg is repped by IFA Talent Agency, Pierce is with Don Buchwald & Associates, and Madsen is repped by attorney Harmon Kaslow."

I fixed up the 1999 Index, hopefully by the end of the year, all the pages should be all the same format and smaller to download. Send me e-mail if you find any bad links, raw HTML showing or any other problems. Feedback is always appreciated either via E-mail or signing the guestbook.

12-01
Rush & Molloy of NY Daily News reports: "Harrison Ford, Robert De Niro, Mark Wahlberg, Kevyn Aucoin, John Bartlett and Rosie Perez were among the many who came out to Lotus on Wednesday night to celebrate the publication of Sante D'Orazio's new book of photographs"

Thanx to SCORPIAN on the MW.com MBs, E! Online has a sneak peak at POTA's filming, they're some spoilers in it. So You've been warned!

Mark may do a remake of Charade according to Variety's Fleming.

After reading the LA Times story on the lack of marketing for 'The Yards' by the studio, I wondered if they would spend some of their money on those ads they run in Variety and the Hollywood Reporter to remind Academy and other award officials of their movie. I read it costs $6500 for a full page ad in Variety. Since I don't have that kind of money, I decided to do a mock-up ad for Mark. (Slight change, thnx M Factor!)

It's my first time messing w/ image editors, so don't expect masterpieces. Send me feedback. If you have your own website, make one for Mark to show your support!

11-30-00
Variety's Fleming reports: "Kris Kristofferson has joined the cast of ``Planet of the Apes,'' the Tim Burton-directed Fox pic inspired by the Charlton Heston sci-fi classic. The new pic's a lot different than the original, and Kristofferson will play a warrior who leads the human revolt against the oppressive ape regime. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Estella Warren, Tim Roth, Paul Giamatti, Helena Bonham Carter and Michael Clarke Duncan, and for Kristofferson, the role marks a continued film renaissance. Kristofferson, who just completed starring with Peter Fonda in the indie ``The Wooley Boys,'' will move directly from ``Apes'' to reprising his role alongside Wesley Snipes in ``Blade 2.'' The momentum of Kristofferson's comeback is underscored by his return to that latter pic, considering that his character died a most violent death in the first film."

A little OT, Scott Caan and Casey Affleck were cast in Ocean's 11. Scott is the son of Mark's Yards' co-star, James and Casey is the younger bro of Ben.

The Hollywood Reporter had a report on the shooting locations (CA & AZ) for POTA. It seems to be a rather old as it still reports the July 4 opening, tho it could just be the reporter.

11-28-00
The LA Times has a rather scathing article on the Marketing of 'The Yards.'

Variety's Archerd reports: "Liberal and reactionary politics -- and monkey bizness: The Senate, in Tim Burton's ``Planet of the Apes'' produced by Richard Zanuck now boasts the addition of David Warner -- to play an esteemed liberal member of the apes' Senate and father of Helena Bonham Carter. They sympathize with the plight of the oppressed humans -- two of whom are Mark Wahlberg and Estella Warren. On the other side of the Senate aisle is Tim Roth, the ape leader who considers humans as animals, as does Michael Clarke Duncan. Warner reminds that this is not the first time he has gone ape. In 1966 he starred in the title role of ``Morgan -- A Suitable Case for Treatment'' and in the final scene he donned a gorilla suit to disrupt his ex-wife's wedding. Warner has high praise for Rick Baker's extraordinary ``Planet of the Apes'' makeup -- even if he has to report at 3 a.m. Helena Bonham Carter's makeup call is 2:30 a.m. That's really showbiz!"

11-26-00
The LA Times finally had a bit more info on the Carousel Of Hope Ball. Seems Mark won two trips to Maui and the Caribbean. He must be making up for not being able to go for POTA.

11-25-00
ABC news has an article about Rick Baker, the makeup guy for The Grinch and POTA. The most interesting part is "Mark Wahlberg is going to be as naked as the censors allow. . ."

11-24-00
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and ate a ton of turkey. For all those who don't celebrate, sorry for the lack of updates as it's a holiday round these parts.

Makin at the MW MB visited the POTA set recently. Mark had already gone home to Boston for the holiday but confirms it's filming at Sony Studios 27 & 30. If you're round LA, go to the studio tour.

11-22-00
In the spirit of the upcoming Thanksgiving Day, I just want to thank you guys for visiting this website (at my old NBCi addy & here) Especially those who've sent me feedback via E-mail or the guestbook, (Thanks E!!)

Some link cleanup, added new links to my links page, including some from fellow members of MW.com MBs and a FAQs/About me page.

11-21-00
According to the Boston Herald, Mark and his big bro Donnie donated some stuff for a silent auction for a fundraiser. Thanks to KristyKay on the MW.com MB!

11-17-00
'The Yards' opens nationwide in Canada!

According to the NY Daily News, Mark had a little disagreement with a director at a LA club! There was a mention he had a date, wonder if Jordana knows about this! )

11-16-00
According to Dark Horizons, POTA is back on the Sony lot to film the spaceship scenes, so look for Mark around the studio!

Gold's Gym - Venice (California) is having their 35th Anniversary Party tonight and Mark's supposed to be there! Read more here!

11-15-00
POTA Set Report from Ain't it Cool News.

11-14-00
'The Perfect Storm' VHS & DVD versions are for sale today.

11-13-00
The Hollywood Reporter also has Mark as a possible co-star in 'The Castle.'

Thanks to MonkD_Girl for the heads up on Mark's possible role with Redford from Variety and new date for 'Rock Star.'

'The Perfect Storm' DVD/VHS commercials began running over the weekend. It comes out on Tuesday!

11-12-00
Last night Mark was in Las Vegas for the Lewis v. Tua fight at Mandalay Bay according to Boston Herald. I'd expect to see Mark in Vegas alot (esp. big fights) since POTA is filming in LA, AZ & UT.

11-11-00
Huge Giagantic spoilers on POTA from Daily Radar, but no pics:(. If you hate spoilers, don't follow the link, what it does say, is Mark was filming with Bonham-Carter near Lake Powell, Utah. OH MY GOD, he's just the next state over! Too bad it's impossible to go anywhere without a car round here.

First Reviews of 'The Yards' from England via the London Telegraph, Empire (UK) Magazine and The Times

11-09-00
New articles about Mark & Joaquin Phoenix from the London Telegraph.

10-08-00
From the Hollywood Reporter: "Authorities probe 'Apes' fall that killed IA member

Cal/OSHA is investigating a fatal accident that occurred during preproduction of Fox's "Planet of the Apes." Paul Trachtenberg, 42, a scenic artist who was painting a floor-to-ceiling backdrop for the film's set, was killed Oct. 30 when he fell off a platform that had been raised about 20 feet above the floor of the Los Angeles Center Studios. Trachtenberg was rushed to a local trauma center, where he died of his injuries. "

Hope those in the London area were able to catch Mark's new movie at the film fest. If not, it's set to open this Friday!

Thanks to MonkD_girl at the MW MB on the heads up on Mark's comments on 'The Yards' Box office and Director Gray from the NY Daily News.

11-07-00
Election Day is TODAY! Don't forget to Vote!

News on 'The Yards' Overseas box office (it's open in France already) from Variety via Yahoo News.

An onset spy report on POTA from Fandom. No report on any actors, but the set sounds huge! P.S. It's on Sony's Stage 30!

Found confirmation on the rumors of Heston having a cameo (as an ape) in Mark's POTA from Variety. No official word on George yet.

'The Yards' shows at the London Film Fest TODAY and Oct. 8. If youre in London, try and get some tickets!

POTA filming began yesterday in LA and Paige, Arizona.

10-06-00
'The Yards' review from Ain't-it-cool-news.

Article on Mark's possible return to music from Hollywood.com.

11-05-00
New article on James Gray from the Boston Globe.

Mark should be in LA as POTA starts filming tomorrow.

Tigerlily on the MW message boards read Mark's agent confirmed Mark is doing 'Born to Steal.' The story came out August 11, but confirmation wasn't published. Anyway according to Publisher's Weekly, the book will be published sometime in 2002, so expect production to start around then.

11-04-00
From the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "Sightings: Actor Mark Wahlberg, on the list of celebs who RSVP'd for tonight's [Nov. 3] De La Guarda VIP showing at the Rio." De La Guarda, is an Argentinaian group, who preform "theatre in the air" to some techno/dance music. It's kinda like Cirq de Sole on Speed, at least that's what it looked like from a clip they showed on my local news when they came to San Francisco. I think Leo Dicaprio told him about it. (read in a NY review he went to a show in New York and became a participant.)

Thanks to construction in front of the theatre, my viewing of 'The Yards,' will be delayed for a week. I'm just glad Fort Collins was big enough to be included in the rollout. So hopefully, most of Mark's fans in the US will be able to see it this weekend.

Don't forget Charlize Theron is hosting Saturday Night Live, Nov. 4 and will be on Leno 11/15. Hopefully she'll mention some cute tidbit on Mark.

11-03-00
'The Yards' opens in selected markets in Canada and open wider next week.

Also "The Yards' is playing at the Hawaii International Film Festival.

11-02-00
More info about the Red Cross E-mail donation in WB's press release.

Warner Brothers is helping the Red Cross by donating 5 cents for every forward of an email about the rescue of the real life people involved in the Perfect Storm. The good thing, it doesn't put the people you send the email to on their mailing list. It's just a great charity with no strings attatched. Send an E-mail by clicking here.

Stupid Bill O'Riley of Fox News' O'Riley Factor knocked Mark's interview with Charlie Rose to "A later date" Whatever that means. Will keep you posted.

11-01-00
Mitchell Fink of the New York Daily News reported "Mark Wahlberg talked on a cell phone while seated at the head table with the Gerald Fords, Sidney Poitiers and Sylvester Stallones," at the Carousel of Hope Ball.

Dark Horizons is reporting Charleston Heston has agreed to a small cameo in POTA! I wonder how he feels about Mark's comment in 1999's MTV Movie Awards? Do you think Heston even watches MTV?

Charlize Theron is hosting Saturday Night Live, Nov. 4 and will be on Leno sometime next week. Hopefully she'll mention some cute tidbit on Mark.

10-31-00
Happy Halloween!!!

Mark was at the Carousel of Hope Ball, read a tidbit from Liz Smith. Gotta love this lady, she knows more about where Mark is than the official site.

Charlize Theron is on David Letterman tonight, Tues. Oct. 31.

10-30-00
Liz Smith is reporting Richard Gere asked Mark to do a movie with him and Mark said Yes! Now we just have to figure out the name of this project!

Not really about Mark, but the SAG Strike is officially over. It was a small factor in Mark pulling out of Ocean's 11. Doubt he would jump back in as POTA has been hampered by delays & will be working to meet its release date.

Positive review of 'The Yards' from TV Guide.

Check Entertainment Tonight on TV for coverage of the Carousel of Hope Ball. The clips on thier page don't show Mark, but we can hope he get caught on camera by the folks on ET.

Updated the calender with another Film Fest date, some Int'l dates for 'The Yards,' and corrected the POTA date.

10-28-00
Also, those of you in the Los Angeles area, did you spot Mark at the Beverly Hilton? Mark was an invited guest for the Carousal of Hope Charity Ball. Entertainment Tonight was supposed to have live video, it didn't happen. So I guess we have to settle for clips either on the show or on this page hopefully they'll have them up soon!

Positive Review from the San Francisco Examiner.

Looks like I was wrong about the Charlie Rose thing, hopefully they'll show it next week. I'll keep you posted!

"The Yards" official site has been updated with some new stuff.

New review from IGNMovies

There's a really nice picture of Mark & Joaquin at the Armani Party in the Nov. 6 US Weekly. It's almost exactly the same as the one I have at the top of the page, except Mark is smiling more in US. He's quoted as saying, "He (Armani) has made a gentlleman out of me, which isn't the easiest thing to do," Wahlberg told US Weekly. "I have never worn another suit, except for some really bad polyester one I had to wear to court when I was about 14 years old." Also is the Star Map, of some of the people connected with him. And yes, Jordana is still listed as his girlfriend.

10-27-00
New positive reviews from the Washington Post, SF Chronicle, The Cleveland Plain Dealer & the Boston Globe. For even more check MRQE & Rotten Tomatoes.

Also Variety (via Yahoo) reports a new date for POTA and production starts Nov. 6

Some of you lucky ducks get to see 'The Yards' today as the rollout continues. As for us who are stuck in smaller markets, we have to wait at least another week. Oh what I wouldn't do to be back home, so I can get my Fix a week early!

Read one journalists early list of contenders for year-end movie honors from the Hollywood Reporter. Could Mark get an Oscar or Golden Globe Nomination?

And probably not really big Mark news, Limp Bizket's new album, where Mark has a very small part in, will debut as #1 on Billboard.

10-26-00
New Review from the Dallas Observer.

10-25-00
Posted another review of 'The Yards' from ShowBizData.

There's a good article on the reasons on why it's taken so long for the Yards to come out from the Boston Herald.

OK, Miramax is doing the slowly rollout the release of the movie, like they did with Dogma. So 'The Yards' may not open this Friday but next Friday (which is the case for me, being in a small town) :(

According to Upcomingmovies.com, "So You Want to Be A Rock Star" has been shortened to "Rock Star."

10-24-00
"The Yards" plays at the Hawaii International Film Festival.

Tim Roth repotedly told the Candian Press filming of POTA begins next month.

10-23-00
Posted another review from CNN. It was very positive!

I moved up the national release date for "The Yards." It opens THIS FRIDAY!!!! Like the new Pic of Mark & Joaquin? I think it was from the Tribeca party last week. The Hollywood Reporter had the wrong caption, so I can't credit the photog.

OK, so I'm a bad student, instead of doing any work, I transcribed Mark's apperances on Regis and the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards instead. Enjoy!

Box office figures for 'The Yards' from the Hollywood Reporter.

Box Office figures for 'The Yards' from E! via Yahoo.

New article from the San Francisco Chronicle about Joaquin Phoenix and "The Yards."

Battling insomnia, I decided to transcribe the Good Morning America Interview since it was pretty short.

Look for Ebert at the Movies and reruns of VH1's Vogue Fashion Awards today. Check your TV Guides for times.

10-21-00
I didn't feel like doing any homework and decided to try transcribing Mark's apperance on David Letterman. It's insanely hard with a 2-head VCR, so think of it as an early X-mas present. Anyway you can read it here. No copyright infringment intended, it's for the International folks who don't get Dave!

Don't forget to look for 'Ebert at the Movies' this weekend for his review of "The Yards." Times/dates vary so check your TV Guides!

If you missed the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, they'll be rerunning it this weekend. For Mark, skip the beginning until the last half hour, tho the rest of the show is interesting. The models are still too thin! Down with the Kate Moss wannabes!

The Daily Radar reported shooting began on POTA in Sun Valley, California Monday, none of the main actors or Director Tim Burton was there

Finally got around to listening to the whole Limp Bizkit Album.  Mark has the smallest bit in the last track, #15 "Outro." It starts at 4:19 and essentially it's a phone message to Fred Durst about meeting up in NYC. Here's my transcript of Mark's part.

10-20-00
The Yards opens Today for all the New Yorker, Chicagoans and (Los) Angelos!

Mark is scheduled to be On VH1's Vogue Fashion Awards tonight!

In addition to the  2 articles with some interesting quotes from Mark, I've added another 15 (!!!) articles about the Armani party and "The Yards," including reviews here.

I think Mark will be especially thrilled about the NY Times review of his performance. (Hint Hint: James Cagney)

Dark Horizons has a positive review posted.

Listen to James Gray, the director of "the Yards," talk about his casting decisions (like why Mark was cast as Leo when Joaquin was the original choice) and the movie at Broadcast.com. You'll need Windows Media Player.

10-19-00
As a supplement to SYWTBARS news, Check out the Official Verve Pipe Page. One of the members was in the film with Mark.

The NY Times reported Mark was at a Premiere Party for the new Armani Exhibit at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The exhibit itself opens Friday, Oct. 20th.

Mark is on Regis & Good Morning America Today. Mark is also scheduled to appear on VH1's Vogue Fashion Awards (Fri. 20th).

10-18-00
More articles, mostly covering the NY premiere party for "The Yards" on Saturday.  Supposedly Mark was caught kissing one journalist's ex girlfriend. Read that article and eight other articles here. Also caught a profile on Mark from the NY Times, with some comments from Father Flavin.

Also more VCR alerts! Don't forget Joaquin Phoenix is on Letterman Wed., 10/18. And tomorrow Mark is on Regis (Thurs. 19th) & Good Morning America (Thurs. 19th). Mark is also scheduled to appear on VH1's Vogue Fashion Awards (Fri. 20th).

"The Yards" screens at 7 p.m. at The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. For more Info go here

Updated the calender, I finally got confirmation from Film Unlimited on the UK/Ireland date for "The Yards" and also put up the release dates for his next 2 films.

A profile on Mark & Joaquin from the Chicago Sun Times.

Honolulu Star Bulletin reports POTA is only shooting second Unit - no actors. Meaning Mark is not going there.

A brief snippet from the AP via Yahoo News about Michael Clarke Duncan about POTA.

10-14-00
Did ya catch Letterman last night? Mark was looking very fine in his black V-sweater. Didn't learn much in way of filming of his films. He did mention he lost a patch of skin off his buttocks after riding a horse.  I AM so THERE for POTA. Horses & Mark, I might just die. (For those who don't know I'm majoring in Equine Science, so it's a dream come true combining three of my obsessions: horses, Mark & movies!)

The last screening of "The Yards" at the Denver Film Festival is tonight.

10-13-00
Reminder!! Set Your VCRs for Mark's Appearance today on David Letterman! Hopefully we'll learn a bunch about his film projects!

Scifi.com reports: "Gary Oldman told Access Hollywood that he won't appear in Tim Burton's upcoming remake of Planet of the Apes, according to a report on TV Guide Online. "Sadly, they'll be making the movie without me," Oldman reportedly told the show.

Oldman added, "They don't want to pay anyone. They're cheap." Mark Wahlberg will star in Burton's remake of the 1968 SF classic movie."

USA Today has a section of popular LA Eateries and Mark is mentioned.

Inside.com posted a story on the defunct Mark/De Niro project "Out On My Feet." For those who don't know it was a boxing movie set to film back in 1997 before all kinds of stuff happened.

The Yards was at the Denver International Film Festival and will be at Ft. Lauderdale's Film Festival on the 18th.

Upcomingmovies.com posted a review of the movie *1/2. Nothing against Mark & co, just too long for the viewer's taste. I personally like long movies. We'll see Nov. 3!

10-12-00
More news about POTA's apes from FilmIGN and confirmation of filming in Hawaii from Coming Attractions.

Not really new news, but Mr. Showbiz reported "Phone Booth" was to star Mark before he dropped out. Colin Farrell now is the star of the Fox production.

10-11-00
Coming Attractions also reports the new POTA will have ALOT more Primate species than the original. From cute little ones to the big gorillas.

iFuse is reporting Mark got a little too buff for POTA and is working on losing some muscle. Poor Mark, I think this is the forth time a director has asked him to start losing weight for a role. Thanks to Dark Horizons for the link.

10-10-00
As you can see in the calender section, I finally got the nationwide date for "The Yards," Nov. 3. Those of you in LA & NY get it October 20. Lucky Ducks!

They also wrote the Fox pic "Around the World in 80 Days," which was developed as an Ang Lee-directed pic but is now planned as an animated feature for the studio. The scribe team's repped by Endeavor.
