At Srishti, a team of students and faculty have been working with me on designing a showcase for Hewlett-Packard’s Indian research & development centre. It has been a very exciting and challenging assignment, because our aim is to underplay the technology-centric aspect of the research and evoke the contextual setting – in other words, let the background dominate the foreground.

The showcase design has been finalised and is about to go into execution. Here are some snapshots of the final presentation model (yes, we made the model using cardboard and colour printouts manually) along with annotations. As you can see, the inspiration behind the entire exhibit was children's pop-up story books!

this is the view from the front… and this from the rear end. this is a view of the glass wall from the outside, where we’re planning a vinyl-cut timeline of HP inventions.
this is the introductory panel - it faces you as you approach the showroom. as you turn left, you come to the methodology section. note the "screen" in the dead centre. and this is the first context/scenario you’d see - the Home setting - where we feature two demos.
further along the glass wall, you'd reach the Community Centre scenario, where we have two more demos. turn the corner (there's the second screen in between) you reach the Shop scenario, where we have another demo. and finally, you'd reach the Remote Location scenario, where we have three demos.
