| Song information: Very Nice. "Very Nice" was created within a ten-minute jam at the end of one of 2003's extremely unproductive rehearsal sessions. From interviews: "We went through a period of rehearsing songs we found easy, and nothing else. It was very depressing - we sat and plucked randomly and felt down and bored. One day, I suppose some energy just came and we jammed for less than ten minutes and "Very Nice" came out. It made us laugh, and we played it continuously for about twenty minutes. When we stopped, Matthew-James said "That's very nice", and so we named it." "It reminds me of children's television programs. You know the ones; with the colourful plants and trees. When I close my eyes and listen to "Very Nice", I see The Magic Roundabout and Charlie Chalk." "It became a bit of a band joke. If anyone said "That's very nice", we would immediately strike up "Very Nice" - it's probably because of the popularity of that little phrase that we have actually remembered the little piece." "I see it as the nemesis of "Up High"." |
