This is a modified version of Dirk Stoecker's StripHunks by the uploader.

The objective of this modification is to improve upon Ctrl-c breaking
without overly hindering the performance. So some Ctrl-c checking has
been added in what is believed to be correct strategic points.
If it is not sufficient then more Ctrl-c checking can be added later.
