The City of Edmonton, which is my Home now, is situated in a scenic area of the Saskatchewan River. Its also the Capitol City of the province. The population is about 875 000. Edmonton is also called the Gateway to the North. Another way Edmonton is called the City of Champions, because of the success of its Hockey team, the Oilers and its Football team the Eskimos. The City is also well known for the largest Mall, the West Edmonton mall. Edmonton has a large petro-chemical industry and a growing high tech industry. The University of Alberta is wellknown.
Edmonton`s climate varies considerably throughout the year. Summer`s are very pleasant averaging daytime temp. 20C, the heat is dry and seldom oppressive, low humidity. In the Winter temp can reach -40C. In the summer we have 17hrs of daylight. But the Winter daylight is also shorter.
The City has many different cultures. And like any other big City, lots to do. Orchestra, Theaters, Sports, etc.
