New Zealand A finally got on the winning side of the scoreboard in
the Coromandel King Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup tournament in Hyderabad yesterday.
After two games in which they could claim only one point, the first abandoned
when a pipe beneath the field burst and the second abandoned before a
ball was bowled due to a damp outfield, New Zealand A beat Chemplast in
a games reduced to 28-overs.
Batting first, New Zealand A scored 184/9 with Lou Vincent continuing
his outstanding form with the side by hitting 83 not out. Mark Richardson
also scored 31.
In reply, Chemplast could only score 139/9 with Kyle Mills taking three
for 23.
New Zealand A now have four points from their three games. The next match
is against a BPL XI tomorrow.
