Personal History:
Edward Hastings II (Hastings' father) was the former Foreign Affairs minister, which saw the family traveling extensively through Europe. Young Hastings was proved with tutors, with which he excelled, until he was provided a French tutor with a decided lisp. When Hastings attended Harrows, he was taunted for his horrendous pronunciation to the point where he rarely uses the language anymore.
His loyalty, bravery, political connections, and sheer dumb lucky have made him and excellent candidate for membership in the league of the Scarlet Pimpernel, even if his poor linguistic skills have worked against him.
