My Outing Experience - Visit to the Temple

It was a Saturday in August. It was Krishnasthami day. I went out en femme. I wore a black saree, a matching blouse, a gold necklace, silver hanging earrings, payal and a two and half inch black high heel shoes. By the time I got ready, it was nearly 10pm and first I went to an ISCON temple in the area. But unfortunately the Krishnasthami pooja would start at 4am in the morning and I was rather a bit early. But the good thing was as I went near the door and saw a young man entering and asked him about the pooja timings. He looked at me stunningly and told me that the pooja would be at 4am and again at 4pm in the afternoon.

After this brief exchange I turned back to my car. My intention was to stay at the ISCON Mandir for the whole night but I was too afraid to do that. Then, I went to another Temple where I knew the pooja would have started and would be on till 12 midnight. When I was trying to park my car, I saw a couple with whom I had befriended recently. Oops. They looked at the car and said something between themselves. It was dark and hopefully, they could not have noticed me (I have met later and based on their reaction, they did not see me dressed. Close encounter but luckily without any incident.) Anyway, they proceeded to the temple while I sat in the car waiting for them to turn towards the Temple. Soon after, I got down from the car and slowly proceeded towards the temple. Making sure the couple I am familiar with did not see me, I entered the temple and mingled in the crowds. There were lot of people (more than 500 or so) in the Temple and luckily for me a big line had already started for taking prasadam and I slowly went along with the line until my turn came. Without looking at the Pandit ji, I held my hand and received prasadam and flowers. I quickly turned around and proceeded towards the exit.

Unfortunately, I saw another person who is familiar to me!!!. I quickly started towards the other exit door. But there was a problem at the second exit door. That exit door was nearly impassable since the line to take prasadam had reached outside the temple through the same exit door. I quickly glanced at the main entrance and saw the familiar face going towards the gods. I quickly proceed and exited through the main entrance and to the parking lot. It was a quite a nerve wracking at the same exhilarating experience.

After these two close encounters, I thought it would be wise to leave the Temple premises and come back home. But the other side of me was taunting me that I am wasting lot of my efforts in getting ready for such an occasion. As a compromise I went to the backside parking lot, parked my car, and walked back and forth a couple of times from the parking lot to the corner of the Temple entrance. I came back home without any incident. I was relaxed enough to take some pictures of myself and go to bed.

That's it for now.
Until next time,
Love, Madhuri 1
