Cameos made by Big Ben

Have you ever watched a tv show, movie, or maybe even read something and thought, "Gee, that sure sounds like Big Ben"? Well, if you have, this is the page for you! On this page, I will chronicle various characters that sound like they may have some connection to Big Ben.

This cameo is for those who have seen the first Spiderman movie. If you are anything like me, you have wondered about the nature of the Green Goblin's most painful and embaressing death(come on, a glider to the crotch!!). Well, I believe that Big Ben may have been behind this so called "accidental" suicide. Think about it, in order to kill your arch-nemesis would you really risk getting stabbed in the crotch?! This death is so humiliating that I will link to the image instead of directly showing it.

a most painful and humiliating death

This cameo comes from the cult classic, "Family Guy" in the form of the infant Stewie. Although he may look innocent, he is highly advanced for his age, or any age, and hopes to use his intelligence to kill his mother and take over the world! When he was first born, it turns out that a map of Europe came with him for some reason. Could Stewie actually be a child of Big Ben's that Louis, the mother, had from an affair? Does Stewie know Big Ben, and if he does is he an ally or enemy of him? Unfortunately, we will never know since there are no longer any new episodes of "Family Guy." However, you can search for clues by watching it on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, or by buying the Seasons 1 & 2 and Season 3 DVD sets of the show.

Update: 09/15/06 - I know that this is old news, but there are new episodes of Family Guy with more of Stewie's nefarious plots than ever. However, the connection to Big Ben is still unclear

Gary the Rat      It seems that Spike TV has been mainpulated by Big Ben in someway because they air a show called "Gary the Rat," about a lawyer who got turned into a rat. Since Gary is voiced by Kelsey Grammer, perhaps he is the one being manipulated. The interesting thing about this show, besides its crude humor, is the fact that there is somebody always trying to kill Gary the Rat. Perhaps this means that someone is after Big Ben as well. The point is, Big Ben is either controlling Spike TV or there is a new rat in town . . .

Big Ben seems to have the town of Nowhere, since he has been sighted on the show "Courage the Cowardly Dog." The character is commonly known as merely "rat" in order to keep his identity secret. Since I'm having trouble finding a suitable picture right now, I will merely list the episodes that I can recall that he has appeared in:

The first case I can think of is that of the "Animaniacs" sketch and TV show "Pinky and the Brain." For those out of the loop, this show is about two mice, Pinky and Brain, who are out to rule the world. Brain is the plotting, evil mouse who does the work and Pinky is the goofball who screws the plans up. The creator(s) of this show may have actually seen Big Ben, and are trying to discreetly tell the world about him. However, the only question is about where Pinky comes in. Is there really a goofy sidekick who screws up all of Big Ben's plans, or was Pinky added so Big Ben wouldn't catch on?
