Year 2000: What to Expect?

People flocked together and celebrated the New Year with much excitement and great expectations. Almost everybody wanted to catch a glimpse of the dawning of the new millennium. Millions of money were spent on firecrackers alone to welcome the advent of this year. What makes this year so special? What is in store for everybody in the year 2000? What is everybody looking forward to? Will this year bring us more hope and progress?

Many are obsessed with the pursuit of personal happiness and yet end up feeling miserable and discontented. Perhaps more pleasures and some more entertainment might be the answer. Or maybe, we think if only I could have more money? If all else fails, we think probably I'm not religious enough. We turn here and there without any satisfaction. Year after year, it has always been the same. How will this year be any different? How will this year be meaningful?

Dear friend, we want to tell you, that if you merely seek outward prosperity and blessings this year without touching the source and reality behind all these things, then we're afraid that you will only be disappointed again.

First, we have to know that years, months and days are related with the luminaries. Days are small appearances of the sun. The sun comes out every 365 days, this is the appearance. And how about the month? It is the coming out of the moon. All the turning of the years, months and days are dependent upon the luminaries.

Please remember, all the turning in the spiritual experience, whether they are as big as the year, as small as the day, or medium like the month, they are also dependent upon the lights. When you touch the light, you can have a turn. When you touch God, you can have a turn. When you touch Christ, you can have a turn. Our Light is God (Rev. 21:23-24). Our Light is Christ (John 8:12). Spiritual turning comes because man contacted God.

What is to have a spiritual  New Year? It means that at this time, you will go before God purposely to seek His face and meet Him. You bring with you your past condition before God and allow His shining face to shine upon you. He is waiting for you; He is open to you. You must open yourself, do not close yourself. Do not let the days pass away carelessly. At this turning of the year, go before the Lord. Let the Lord enlighten you. He will come to you. His Spirit will come to you. When He as the Spirit comes, He is the Light, He will adjust you. At this very point, you have a new beginning.
