| Part 3: Cruisin for a Bruisin (Vermilion City- Rock Tunnel) (incomplete) Vermilion City After you heal at the Pokemon Center, take time to checkout Vermilion City. You can go get your first fishing rod, get the bike voucher trade for a Farfetch'D. But there is one big problem. Unlike in the previous cities, the Vermilion City Gym is blocked by a bush and the only way to clear it out is by using a HM that you get aboard the S.S. Anne. There are almost 20 trainers on the S.S. Anne, none of them are hard except for your rival maybe. Go to the shop and get some items like Super Potion, it heals a whopping 50HP! You may also want to get a Dugtrio from Rock Tunnel. We rccomend you go East to the Rock Tunnel, smash some Diglett and get yourslef a Dugtrio level 29! Ther are also a few trainers and Wild Pokemon to the East in a grassy road area. Smash the 9 trainers and catch any new Pokemon you may see. After you have cleared out thetrainers, its time to go to the S.S. Anne. There are aout 20 trainers on the S.S. Anne, all very easy. There are a few floors on the S.S. Anne all holding many Trainers in their cabins. You should explore and fightevery trainer before you talk to the Captain. After every floor you should go back to the Pokemon Center to heal and save. When you come accross your rival he will have the same Pokemon, but up a few levels. Your Pokemon should all be around level 30. After you trash your rival go to the Captains Room and rub his back. After you do he will give you HM 01, Cut. Cut is a pretty good Normal type move that can be used to cut grass that the Pokemon hide in and cut down bushes out of battle. Cutting Grass isvery useful when you Pokemon a very weak so you can go heal. With cut, go and fight Lt. Surge and his cronies. Lt. Surge's Gym is oneof the hardest because it has the most annoying Puzzle! Defeat all the trainers and solve the hard Puzzle. The puzzle is very hard but can be done. First check all the Garage Cans. Once you hit the first witchcheck a Garage can right next to it, it coulde on top, bottom, left or right. Try doing one the same timeover like left until you get it. If you guess the wrong can, it restarts and the switch is in a new can. After you eventualy solve the Puzzle, go heal and save and fight Surge. Surge has weak Pokemon. He has a Voltorb Level 21, Pikachu Level 18 and Raichu Level 24. He should be no problem for your level 30 Pokemon. If you have Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise, you should eat him with Diglett or Dugtrio. Ater you beat him, heal, save and head up to Rock Tunnel. Rock Tunnel If you have not done it already, go get your brand new bike from the Bike Shop in Cerulean and head East to Rock Tunnel. On the way to Rock Tunnel you may encounter a lot of trainers, although they are easy, do not underestimate them. If you don't heal, theycan issue a series of beatdowns to you Pokemon so heal when your hurt. Again, like in Vermilion, there are only 9 trainers. You should be able to whoop them no problem if you heal. After you beat them, go to Rock Tunnel, and catch a Magnimite out front of the Cave. Heal you Pokemon, fight the Girl and go to Rock Tunnel. When you get into the tunnel you will see that it is very dark. To light the pplace upyoumust go back to Vermilion, go through Digletts Cave, goto the Pallet Town Area from there, get flash and come ack the way you went. Now you can go inside Rock Tunnel and see everything inside |
