| They�ve been best buds since they met on the audition circuit. They often seemed to be up for the same roles, and initially the role of Kenny Fisher in Can�t Hardly Wait was supposed to go to Breckin, but he was unavailable, so it went to Seth. Breckin did however appear uncredited in the film playing the lead singer of the party band (that never played) called �Love Burger�. Also appearing in the band as the drummer was Donald Faison (Scrubs). Breckin and Donald met during the filming of Clueless. Can�t Hardly Wait also featured an actor named Alex Martin (who is the son of Olivia Hussey, she of Zeffirelli�s Romeo & Juliet, and Dean Paul Martin) in the role of the foreign exchange student. Can�t Hardly Wait was directed by Harry Elfont & Deborah Kaplan, and Breckin Myer was engaged to Deb at the time; the two have since married. Harry & Deb also wrote and directed Josie & the Pussycats. When it came time to shoot scenes of the parody band "Du Jour" for the film, they called upon Breckin, Seth, Donald and Alex to portray the faux band. The result being some of the funniest moments in the film. Seth and Breckin have also appeared in the film Rat Race together. Though they share little screen time, you can see them buddying around in the final scene of the film where the cast dances and sings on a stage with Smash Mouth. Also, the DVD contains an extra segment which has a quick profile of the two and their friendship. Seth was interviewed for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Watcher�s Guide (vol. 1) by Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder during the end of the show�s first season. Here�s part of the interview. Buffy Watcher�s Guide: What other actors do you admire? Seth: Breckin Meyer, who I think is one of the best young actors around. Definitely one of the most underused talents around. He is up and coming, just a huge sex symbol. And if there were a man that I was going to be in love with, it would be Breckin Meyer. BWG: Is he standing there right next to you? Seth: Kinda BWG: So you have to say that? Seth: Well Breckin and our friend Ryan and I intend to produce stuff and we�re trying to work toward that. If could sound any more arrogant and pretentious. Hopefully, Seth & Breckin will reunite in another film But�who is the other? Ryan Phillippe! The three of them often hang around together and there was talk that the three might start up a production company together or a band, depending on which interview was quoted. |
