Nationally: Widespread and common, becoming scarcer in the north.

A common and widespread spider, often found on buildings, especially south facing walls. Under-recorded in Wiltshire due to the general lack of records from buildings and houses. Salticus scenicus is the European "Spider of the Year, 2005", Salticus scenicus.
